More concerning though is that he limped off with a thigh injury. Hopefully it is nothing serious and it is just a little knock and he can be fit for the WC opener.

Martinez and Lukaku said in interview afterwards he's okay just a knock. It wasn't a thigh injury. One of Costa Rica players tackled him and caught him with his studs just below the knee/above the shinn protectors.

Hopefully it's nothing, he's in great form atm, best player on the pitch by a country mile tonight and in the last 3 games.

EDIT : Compilation of his game tonight. The tackle is at 10:44

He looked as if he had accidently strolled onto a Sunday League pitch against Costa Rica. It was soo easy for Eden the rest looked embarrassed to be playing on the same field as him.

He looked absolutely AMAZING in his last games for the Belgian NT! It reminded me of his time at Lille OSC. He's full of joy, unstoppable and dribbling like crazy. The way he turns away (left, right) from the opposition is magical!

First I thought, ok lesser teams... But then I also had to think: Why TF is he stuck to the left line with US at Chelsea. He really needs to be playing in a more center position. He's simply brilliant when he has some space! And it's really stupid to take this space away from him and only give him half the pitch (from the left) => Hope Conte or the next Coach is smart enough to do so!!

Why has he been stuck to the left with us here? He played almost all of the previous two seasons in as close to central as hes ever played, as a wide 10 and a second striker....

Exactly my point... he doesn't need to play as a 'wide' 10 and certainly not a second striker. He needs to be given freedom behind the striker in a central position. And his position at Chelsea has almost always been leftwing FW.

we changed the system to this torrid 3 at the back playing with 5 players to accomodate him and give him basically a free role. No player not even Lampard has enjoyed this much  positional freedom in Chelsea since I watch the team. You can argue that because he has donkeys like Alonso and Moses supporting him on either flank that he has to do a lot on his own but no one can argue that he has not been given enough positional and tactical accomodation. On paper he might be a wide 10 or 2nd striker (which basically is a no. 10) but he is allowed to play as much as a true no.10 as one can.

I've never seen him play so well for the Rode Duivels. Absolutely unstoppable in this form and in that setup.

It's also quite clear to me that IF he plays like this and takes the Belgians at least to the semi-finals, he will not return to London in August :(

I don’t agree. He has been given freedom under Conte (probably most freedom he’s had under any manager here), he played as a wide 10 in the first year but he was popping up all over the point and then after cries of him needing to play off a striker in a 352 he got that which came with mixed results. A few games with Belgium against dead rubber where they have a vastly superior first 11 and squad in comparison to their opponents and a draw with Portugal will not change this. I mean how much more freedom does he need to be given? There is no players that essentially give players a completely free role now a days. Even the likes of Messi and Ronaldo don’t get fully free roles.

He's always been open to a move to Madrid, and what player with the highest ambitions wouldn't but I do however think he wants to stay at Chelsea too if Real don't come in for him and him speaking out in this way is a positive in terms of getting the club to get moving as the way we've started this summer transfer window is an embarrassment for our club of our stature... I think he's the one person who can be most effective in terms of putting pressure on the club to get the right managers and good plaers in since they don't want to lose him...

Eden Hazard makes clear willingness to join Real Madrid: 'They know what they have to do if they want me'

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/eden-hazard-chelsea-transfer-real-madrid-news-latest-contract-a8404251.html

"If I stay then it would be because they are going to improve on last season,” he said. “I am not going to remain if they are going to be worse.

Can't blame someone for having ambition but then there's the question of loyalty.

“To say that I am going would be too easy and so first of all I want to see what will happen at Chelsea ahead of next season. I want to see if the coach stays or not.”

Okay, I know he wants the club to sign quality players and we can all kinda tell he wasn't particularly happy with Conte last season but did Hazard really say that? Basically implying he wants the manager to be sacked. Unlike him to sound/be disrespectful about the manager.

We was always UNDER THE IMPRESSION that it was because he wanted to play under ZZ that he wanted to go there tho.

And what about all the supposed quotes about ZZ saying he left RM because Perez didn't want Eden there? It would be a bit crazy if that was a load of bollox.
