I love this whole "he will only go to Real Madrid"

Do you guys remember when we chased him? There was never "I will only got to Real Madrid then", in the cynic's point of view it was a case of "who's putting more 0's on the end of the cheque"? Certainly it's what Wenger and Ferguson complained about.

The optimist might say he's looking for the best project. In the age he's in, in the culture of fickleness at its height, each move is decisive. So you guys might be confident in dismissing the advances of PSG, Barcelona, Bayern whoever. The fact is, he just won the League he'll tick that off. Next, he'll want the Champions League.

If he's going to stay, the club's gotta sell their project to him again. He's within his right to leave, we're within our right to sell.

Thing is, Bayern and Barca don't normally spend the kind of outrageous sums it would require to land Hazard. That's not really how they operate. I suppose Barca somewhat went outside of that box with Suarez and (illegally) with Neymar. Barca have literally zero need for him and he wouldn't get into that team currently anyways. Have Bayern ever spent near what it would take to get Hazard? I can't recall.

Real Madrid and PSG are his only options I think. I have to believe he feels the French league is a step backwards so that pretty much leaves one. Can definitely imagine a scenario where Bale leaves and is replaced by Hazard. That would be the worst case scenario for Chelsea. Bale will only go to one place and with "you know who" in charge he'll be the best player in the league again. We'd be weakening ourselves whilst directly strengthening a rival.

We must convince him to stay at all costs. Top manager and top signings could do that.

FI Real Madrid wanted to by Hazard it would be to replace an outgoing Ronaldo. Ronaldo is on a enormous salary and is clearly on the decline. With the transfer ban, they would be stupid to not sell Ronaldo.

Same outcome, though. Ronaldo will go to United. He'll make peace with Mou and it'll be the biggest media wankfest in football history.

PSG would pay good money to get him, and he would find it easy to score loads of goals in a weak French league.

International brand appeal and an owner that has deep pockets

dont confuse the economic situation of Spain to its inhabitants - all that's happened in the 'eurozone' crisis is that the rich have got richer and the poor have got poorer. It's a very big divide.

Yeah, but ...
The guys with big pockets we 've seen were quite a few and they come and go.
But Real is forever.
There are fashions that come and go. In the seventies there was nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon. Bayern visited once and played against a team I don't like. Someone said to me let's go and I did in the end. Nowadays impossible, only if I was a dedicated supporter - season ticket holder.
So there is less money around I guess, plus people cannot afford owing to the crisis.
But then again money appears again from some other source.
Why is it that Madrid can do so well and we can't ? We have shops, we hace support that is not dwindling, what else is needed ?

I definitely want the guy to stay but if he is set on moving then in the summer sell to highest bidder.

Selling Hazard will give us another "Positive Net Spend" I know you guys are big on that....

Depends how it's used. If we use him to balance books, it'll be seen as a massive failure. If the money is used in a way the Bale sale, it could be a bit of good business. Some of the players Spurs brought in were failures, but some have been important in their title push this season.

Bigger stadium, help from the Govt - rivalry with Barcelona, who want independence. Spain is a complicated place :(

Can one of you stats gurus produce fouls on Eden last year vs this year?  Feel like he was fouled every other time he touched the ball last term.  Just seems like his desire to drive at defenders is gone.

161 last season (foul every 25.6 minutes); 73 this season (foul every 33.5 minutes).

Can you imagine a situation were Neymar has a bad campaign, then gets injured after the primary reason for that bad campaign get's sacked, comes back from said injury, then gets shafted out of position on the right in favour of fucking Pedro and Oscar. Only at Chelsea. This club is just so weird sometimes.

Hazard injury wasn't that serious. He was pretty bad before José was sacked, he was actually below bar, and yes, during some parts of the game he is playing out of position, but when he is playing in the left he has been average as well.

You're wrong :)

The only club Hazard would consider leaving us for is Real Madrid. He has nothing left to prove in France.

You're wrong, for 2 reasons:

1- Hazard is not a player that has a status of someone who can say: I'm so good that the only team I would move is Real Madrid, and we are not talking about a player moving to chinese league. PSG will pay a lot more than Hazard's receives from Chelsea, and he is not a Ballon D'or qualitty player, so there is no reason to not move to Paris.

2- Chelsea at the moment is not an upgrade to PSG.

There is also a 3rd reason: Real don't need Hazard.
