He has a RM transfer written all over him.

  • Zidane is his favorite player and big inspiration
  • Madrid really need him
  • We don't have a manager for next season yet
  • Eden can barely play football in England without getting his teeth kicked in
  • It doesn't look likely he can become the best in the world playing for us

Kissing the badge? It could just be to soften fans down before his transfer. Hopefully he'll stay, but I just doubt it...I and won't blame him, he needs to think of his career first, then about a foreign club he plays for.

Madrid need him? How did you work that one out. They need a goal scorer on the wing to replace Ronaldo. Hazard isn't a goal scorer.

Doesn't RM have a transfer ban?

No they don't. Madrid have been crying out for a player like Hazard for years. Benz/Bale/Hazard can replace Ronaldo's goals easily. He only scores against fodder these days anyway.

I wouldnt be surprised if the board forced him to leave if offer of ~80m would come even if he wanted to stay.

The board makes some absolute bullshit decisions lately and they would rather get that money than keep a great player like Eden. And probably replace him with someone bang average and overpriced.

Hopefuly he stays tho.

Hazard on Zidane: "It is always nice to hear that the player I admired during my childhood speaking about me" #CFC #RMCF (La Gazette)

Hazard: "But I am still under contract at Chelsea and I feel fine.” #CFC #RMCF (La Gazette)

When asked if he would want to be managed by Zidane at some point in his career, Hazard replied: “Yes, of course" #CFC #RMCF (La Gazette)

Hazard: "When I was little, I watched him on TV and on the internet for hours. I spoke Zidane, I ate Zidane." #CFC #RMCF (La Gazette)

Hazard: "But, and I repeat, I feel very well at Chelsea, so this is not news.” #CFC #RMCF (La Gazette)

Is the injury lingering with him?

Surely there is a reason he isn't starting today?

"You never know with injuries but I’m not feeling any pain now, I’m 100 per cent fit and I’m ready to play.

‘We have four very important months and I think the manager wants me to be fresh. I’ve been out for a month, which is a long time. Sometimes you can come back too quickly and you end up getting injured again."

Get the feeling we're resting him for the Champions league and FA cup games.

Super interesting read.

“This is the first time this has happened to me, but it was always going to happen at some stage. You have to learn from it. I’m a human being, not a machine. I’ve been a professional since I was 16, so maybe that has had an influence too.” By the time Hazard turned 25 last month he had already played 446 senior games for clubs and country. Lionel Messi had 431 to his name at that age, and Cristiano Ronaldo 407. When the Belgian limped off with a groin strain at Crystal Palace four days before his birthday, he had mustered 186 appearances in three years. His workload has been onerous.

Surprised no one has picked this bit up...

The prospect of missing out on the Champions League next term would normally be abhorrent, particularly for a player whose decision to reject other suitors and move to Stamford Bridge four years ago was sealed when Roberto di Matteo’s sixth-placed side claimed the trophy in Munich and guaranteed further involvement. But, when you languish 16 points off the top four with 14 games to play, reality kicks in. So could he cope with a season-long absence from the competition now? “When you’re used to playing every year in the Champions League, then yes. Even if missing out for a year, for for the club, would be difficult. Financially.

“Playing in the Champions League was important to me. So, if Chelsea hadn’t won it, I doubt I would have signed. But, this year, we’ll be where we deserve to be. If we’re not in the Champions League, we’ll not have deserved to be in it. We’ll not have done enough to make the top four. You can eat away at 10 or 11 points very quickly, but it’s easier if you still have 30 matches to play. We only have 14 so I think the Premier League is finished. So we’ll have to win [the European Cup] to qualify. Why not? Look at 2012. That’s why I always say we have to target the Champions League.”
