manpe 10,861
Anyway, I think it's pretty clear from that interview that physical and mental exhaustion has caught up with him.

He basically said winning the Champions League is a big target now since we can't get into the competition via the league. But if we don't get into it for next season, he can cope without it for a year because we haven't done well to qualify. mediator

Its easy to say this in an interview, but at the end of the season i would be surprised if he sticks to his word and stays at Chelsea if Real come in for him. I would be ecstatic if he stays loyal to us, but his words in an interview mean nothing to me. Who would you like to bring in to replace him if he leaves? Griezmann? Essien19
Special Juan 28,141
It's easy to say Griezman, Pogba or say Dybala etc but a massive sticking point, and I mean massive is the CL. Yes we can offer big money in wages and fees etc but the CL is a massive pull, we ain't getting in that top 4 and that for me is a massive bollock dropped. I can't see Hazard staying because the board will see pound signs and jump at it and it will be a summer of Miazga type signings, so strap yourselves in. Leif 6,006
This probably won't be popular since they're both from Belgium and yet one is 5x as popular as the other, but if Hazard does indeed leave, just go after Carrasco. I don't think i've seen a player so similar to Hazard. I'd say though that his dribbling is actually more effective, but he's slower. I'd rather Hazard but Carrasco is near enough to that special level himself, & 3 years younger too. Spoiler (Ideally we line up with Hazard - Willian - Carrasco) next season though.) The Champions League is a massive factor in attracting top class players and it could affect who we buy and sell. But I think the most thing this summer is showing that we've still got the ambition to be at the top level. If not, like you said, strap yourselves in and prepare to become Liverpool 2.0. xPetrCechx 13,570
Talks between #Chelsea and Real Madrid are at an advanced stage and Hazard could make move before Euro 2016. [El Chiringuito de Jugones] Roman Abramovich was behind the decision to sell Eden Hazard due to a series of poor performances this season. [El Chiringuito de Jugones] Incredibly, not even a year after being named POTY, the fee being muted for Eden Hazard is just €25million. Pizy 18,908
That's €25m for his left hand, right? That's the type of shit reporting you'd expect from the English media. The media are already starting their stories where they gleefully say that such and such Chelsea players are getting poached. According to many of them it's a foregone conclusion that Hazard and Costa are gone. May as well not even be Chelsea players anymore... Don't see any of our best player s leaving. xPetrCechx 13,570
Eden Hazard is prepared to stay at #Chelsea if he cannot land a dream move to Real Madrid this summer. [Mail] Hazard is likely to snub a potential big-money switch to Paris Saint Germain in favour of a switch to the Spanish capital. [Mail] If a move to the Bernabeu is not possible then Eden Hazard is minded to stay at #Chelsea until a switch to Real becomes a reality. [Mail] Eden Hazard’s future will come under scrutiny this summer, particularly if, as expected, #Chelsea miss out on Champions League  [Mail] Laurent Blanc, PSG manager, also has a firm interest in Hazard, and the French club have the financial clout to make a deal happen. [Mail] But Hazard has his heart set on a switch to Real Madrid, where he would team up with boyhood hero Zinedine Zidane. [Mail] Real could yet be hit with a transfer embargo. In that scenario, Hazard is prepared to stay at #Chelsea until a deal can be reached. [Mail] #Chelsea would demand a high price for Eden Hazard, sources claiming the club would seek a fee close to £80million. Pizy 18,908
He just doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would jump ship after one poor season with a bit of adversity. I wouldn't say that he genuinely loves the club because that would be naive, but he does seem to like Chelsea and cares about the club. I believe he will 100% stay for next season and see how things shape up under the new manager. If we have another really poor season then he's off for sure. If we have a top manager and a nicely revamped side next season that's challenging for the title it may actually be beneficial to him to not have CL or EL matches. He'll have a season to focus completely on the PL and have plenty of rest to keep fresh the whole way. I hope the club realize that he's essentially irreplaceable at this point in time. If we sell him there isn't anyone in his class available that does what he does. You'll have to buy multiple top class players to make up for his loss. That would be made very hard without CL football and the way we're being so tight with cash these days. Beepu and Styles
