They have Nasri, Aguero and Silva as well. Anyway I dislike the name of this thread as I hate Man Citeh.

Nasri is far from a superstar. Also we're talking early signings here; their first season signings post-takeover were:

Robinho (lol)

Wayne Bridge

Shay Given

Craig Bellamy

Nigel de Jong

Hardly world class, any of them.

The next season:

Barry (lol)

Santa Cruz

Tevez (fair enough)

Adebayor

Kolo Toure

Sylvinho

Lescott

Vieira

Johnson

Take Tevez out and it's the same, not one world class player in there. Adebayor and Toure were good. The rest were signed off the back of one good season and have been rubbish since, excluding Lescott who had a good season last year.

We bought 3 world class players in 2003/04 (Makelele, Veron, Crespo), and in 2004/05, we bought another 2 (Robben, Carvalho). We bought 4 in our first two seasons, they bought one.

And we continued with superstars:

2005/06- Essien

2006/07- Shevchenko, Ballack, Ashley Cole

We slowed down after that, but in the first 4 years we bought 9 superstar players, that were among the best in the world at their position at the time of signing. City have bought 4 so far (Tevez, Yaya Toure, Silva, Aguero) in the same length of time. The Nasri's and Robinho's and other shite they've bought can be compared with Ferreira, Cech, Drogba, in that they weren't considered one of the best in the world when they signed.

To say that they bought the PL while you look at us is enormous hypocrisy. We bought it more than they did.

Meh the whole 'buy the league' is just shite anyway. You have to play 38 games the same as everyone else.Players may cost more then other teams but doesnt mean they'll perform well.Have to have a Manager who knows what they're doing to make it work and really keep everyone happy in a way

Robhino...that was a random signing in the end.Probably spent first few months wondering where Fergie was and why they were in blue.Didnt seem like he wanted to be there more like he had no choice cause they were never gana sell him to us

Might have to revive the 'We hate City thread' after they did us no favours, as per usual. Yaya on his A-game against us, against Spurs.. strolling around casually.

TX has a point. But still, we don't hate man city  One of cap's unfortunate threads. Who decided to make it "official" though? Staff should remove it from the title if it's not recognized as a general consensus of the forum.

We don't hate City simply because there hasn't been any real rivalry between us. When we were challenging for the tittle they were no threat to us, and now that they are challenging for the tittle in the last two seasons we haven't been a threat to them. Give it a couple of years and we'll be hating each other!

As for the fans, from my experience from doing opposition views, I can't agree with Term. If anything the City fans I've met have been generally nicer than other fans.

I think that from my experience they are "nicer", (not the best use of nice tbh) simply because everyone other of our bug rivals, i.e. Tottenham and Arsenal and to some extent Liverpool, hate us because of what abramovic has done and the money he has invested, which is always their go to argument whenever they want to chat shit about us. Yet City can't do that for obvious reasons. Ofc as the teams become a lot closer we will become bigger rivals, but i can't see us ever getting to the same level as Tottenham, Arsenal, Utd, Liverpool and co.

City fans are one of the most bitter in world football. Living under United's shadow since forever, therefore have a completely different mentality to Chelsea fans post-Roman. Grandiose delusions about how big they ‘think’ they are, even belittling Romans riches in comparison to the sheikh. On the other end of the spectrum, you have the older City generation of fans and their munich chants.

Now that City have officially bottled their season big time, I can see Mancini getting sacked. Our board must consider this possibility and act on Mourinho quickly! If we haven't tied up the deal before Mancini is officially shown the door, we will be in a fight which would result in inflated prices for the services of Jose. So if we want to save our nerves and money, it better be done swiftly and decisively, not taking time "evaluating" shit candidates.
