TorontoChelsea 4,064
The reason he was held back and not sent on loan is purely because we are so thin in midfield and required a contingency plan. If no one gets injured for the rest of the year and we got knocked out of Europa then he will probably get no more minutes. His development would have never factored into that equation, sadly.I'm not worried. He's young and has lots of time to develop. He'll go on loan next season and develop there. ja1 1,166
Nathan Aké has signed a contract with Nike:http://t.co/8phLJft24X http://t.co/4teow4yRF9Recently Nike have signed Sterling and Eriksen recently, plus have the likes of Walcott and Neymar signed. Not surprised Aké has joined this young elite :-) The Skipper
The Skipper 20,609
I believe in this kid. Can see him going on the plane to WC2014 if he develops well enough.

Funkyflashman 187
Yup me too, never one to overhype young players but I have been really impressed every time I've seen him. Looks very, very cool on the ball The only place to be
CHOULO19 24,332
Great first half, looked very solid defensively and made some great interceptions, but completely fell apart in the second. Should have been taken off, imo. But hopefully he got some valuable experience.
Mufassir08 2,400
Although he played well but their 2nd goal proves that ake would be more suited as a midfielder rather then a CB long term wise.

He wasn't at fault for the second goal, Mikel was (and yes I realise I'm playing the same note but it's pertinent here).

Blue Armour 4,439
Great first half, looked very solid defensively and made some great interceptions, but completely fell apart in the second. Should have been taken off, imo. But hopefully he got some valuable experience. It happened when he was pushed into an advanced role, after Mikel came on. His passing became wayward. As a CDM, he was solid
