However NATO let it be known in advance they were not going to intervene. That makes it strange why he did not agree to at least this Russian demand, to stay out of NATO. Still, I wonder if NATO are scared kittens nowadays.

What we have here resembles a Korea situation rather than nuclear war. We are not attacking Russia so the chance for that sort of escalation is 0.00001% and Putin bluffed us with an empty hand. On the other hand given that Biden stated from the beginning there was going to be no NATO intervention, I find it strane Zelensky did n't drop his NATO plans (but maybe this was not going to avert the invasion). Asking for whomever to stay and fight, no, leave and stay alive then at least its a chance to come back one day, who knows. NikkiCFC 8,331
Well done Elon. If there are more people like this. I tried to watch Russia Today last week and it does look like total propaganda but you cannot ban it. Just like Trump getting banned from Twitter was disgrace. It does not matter if it is all lies you just cannot do it. Just like on this forum person was banned for sharing some YT videos about Covid and Fauci. Free speech over everything! It will turn like that total heap of ruins. There's no way Ukraine can survive long like this. Maybe a month max. Leader should just call retreat and give up control because they will be slaughtered all of them. Fulham Broadway

The conspiracy theory, which is baseless and has roots in QAnon mythology, alleges that Trump and Putin are secretly working together to stop bioweapons from being made by Dr. Anthony Fauci in Ukraine and that shelling in Ukraine has targeted the secret laboratories. And China is not stupid they was waiting for a while to see if anyone intervene military. Now that nothing happened China will start been more active. Like I said the people of Ukraine ain't going to survive this if they keep this up. They need to surrender and let all his people flee as much as they can. They will be slaughter and no one will su anything because they are all scared because of a potential "nuclear war" Fulham Broadway
DH1988 1,348
Evacuate, Black Sea consolidation, power plant control and then push the refugees West-ward, let Europe deal with the fall out. Seems to be the picture at the moment. One thing that I cannot stand is people speaking out on twitter and parliament etc if you're that bothered, off you pop onto your private jet to Ukraine. Ukraine is saying that US is obligated to use military support as part of security measures, unfortunately not the case, sold down the river. Once again, I condemn what is happening, there is shared blame here in terms of politics and civilian pawns caught up in it, same as is littered through our human history. I haven't seen Yemen in the news or the Premier league changing colours or supporting Yemeni. The US, what a midas touch they have for foreign policy. Not only that, but US as well Europe continues to buy oil. And last time I check it was 116 barrel. Meaning they are paying more to Russia for oil. Fernando 6,585
Chevron CEO announces Israel gas pipeline could supply Europe Europe’s natural gas shortage, which has propelled prices to multi-year highs, has renewed talk of the EastMed pipeline – a Mediterranean Sea pipeline that could carry gas from Israel to European customers, Chevron Chief Executive Michael Wirth said on Monday at the CERAWeek energy conference. Wirth downplayed concerns over global oil supplies amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the subsequent potential for an energy crisis. The EastMed pipeline, meant to transfer natural gas from Israeli waters to Europe via Greece and Cyprus, was announced in 2016, and several agreements have been signed between the three countries on the subject. The three states aimed to complete the €6 billion project by 2025, but no financing has been attained for it. Last January, the US informed Israel, Greece and Cyprus that they no longer favored the proposed EastMed natural-gas pipeline from Israel to Europe citing the need to “(allow) for future exports of electricity produced by renewable energy sources, benefiting nations in the region.” The pipeline’s viability, however, could be reexamined amid worries that a new energy crisis is looming as Russian energy imports are sanctioned and even subject to being prohibited. Brent Crude breached $130 a barrel on Monday, having risen over 30% since mid-February. The EastMed pipeline is not the only new energy initiative being developed in Israel. The European Union committed 657 million euros ($732 million) to connect the electricity networks of Cyprus and Greece in January, which was panned as the first step in forming the EuroAsia interconnector – which will eventually link the power grids of Israel, Cyprus, Greece and Europe. Further, the Karish gas field will connect to the Israel National Gas Line, the CEO announced in March https://greekcitytimes.com/2022/03/09/chevron-ceo-announces-israel-gas-pipeline-could-supply-europe/ This is interesting to me because this is what I speculated could happen. If the world stops buying from Russia, they will need another big time supplier. And that it would be Israel. I do expect this to happen and Israel to start supplying gas to Europe. This in turn will put Russia eye on Israel to eventually come and attack them for their natural resources.
