And how the hell did Ribery come 3rd in the Ballon d'Or voting? He has been awful in all the matches against good teams I've seen him play and he looks only slightly above an average player and seems to have lost some of his pace.

He was great last season, and at the beginning of this season.

But since he got the whole butt surgery thing + losing ballon d'or, he's been horrible.

Don't you just love happy endings where everyone gets what they want? Real got the goals and win they wanted and Bayern got the 70% possession they care so much about. So technically, by their respective standards, both teams won! :yay:

It's just so beautiful to see.. :')

It's absolutely shocking to see what Guardiola did to Bayern. He took the best team in the world which seemed destinied to dominate and made... this. I actually am sorry for their players, they look so clueles out there.

Not a bit sorry for Pep.

I would love to hear his excuses post-match. I would just LOVE it.

Whoever gets to the final against them will have it tough, but will have a chance as one any given day anyone can beat anyone.

But God, how I want us to go to Lisbon and spoil their party.

Spot on. Pep has made Bayern into a worse version of his Barca side. Players were different of course, but the same boring style.

I will say a cruel thing now, maybe. But there is something deeply symbolic about the coincidence - yesterday there was a memorial service for Tito (God rest his soul) who helped Pep create tiki-taka and today it looks like tiki-taka itself is laid to rest. Not a system as it is, probably, but a myth about it being unbeatable and a future of football.

Maybe it just doesn't work unless you have players Pep had in Barca - in their prime, too. Or maybe Pep is overrated as a coach. But this pathetic displey by Bayern (and not just in this match but in many recent matches) is sure to open some eyes.

Would not be surprised to see Bayern praised for great attacking football though. After all, they had posession.
