We need to make this happen as soon as possible. We do not want him getting close to the expiry date because that's when offers will start coming in for him, and like most footballers he probably has some c**t of an agent that is just after the money. Things are looking promising but with Jeffery just signing an extension. Lets hope this is close to happening as well.

i would understand if the boy asks for some first team action guarantee before signing a contract , he did all what any youngster could possibly do to prove he can be the next biggest football phenomena on earth .

the greatest players in this century like messi and ronaldo have done less than him as youngsters and had more opportunities while they were at his age .

hope carlo will start the manufacturing process of the next blue legend .

Juni from TheChels.net reports that Kakuta may get a new five-year deal.

Link

It's been a subject of some consternation for Chelsea fans in the last few months.

Gael Kakuta's contract with Chelsea, as far as any media source reveals, is due to expire next summer. The club have certainly never revealed an extension to the deal he signed when joining the club, and FA registration documents over the last twelve months have not mentioned his name.

The wait and uncertainty may be close to ending, however. Reports from earlier this year, which had gone unnoticed to the English press (and yours truly, to be honest), emanating from Le10Sport suggest that player and club were negotiating a new five-year deal.

(Chelsea) are currently negotiating a contract extension

with Gael Kakuta. Under contract until June 2011, the French midfielder,

18, should, according to our information, sign up for five more seasons

with Chelsea. The Lille-born youngster would therefore remain at the

club until June 2016. And, it seems the deal is nearing completion.

Now, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt, for it's not been corroborated by other sources, and le10sport could just as easily be a dubious one. However, it wouldn't be something that they would report without some foundation, as there would be little to gain by doing so.

These reports emerged some four months ago, so naturally there may be questions as to why nothing has been signed yet, but it's important to remember that Gael was away on international duty in July and August after a brief holiday, and then a hectic spell of pre-season with Chelsea where he picked up an injury.

Couple all of that with the typically laborious nature of negotiations and things are prone to dragging. It should also be noted though, that Jeffrey Bruma's new deal was announced last week but had actually been agreed some time ago in mid June, so just because it's not been announced doesn't mean there are problems.

In short – there's no need to panic. The club are apparently trying to tie down one of their hottest prospects, and that's something we can all get on board with.
