You watch Gladbach often? No,but I read a lot of posts in the german Gladbach Forum,so I know how his current form is. They said that he has world class potential,but he does not deliver it anymore and is far away from his best form from last season. One interesting thing to note is that the complete defence of Gladbach seems shaky,so it is not his complete fault,but they expect more from him Thorgan seems to do better and they think that his best position is the no.10 role. Maybe if they play together for couple yeard. People who imagine our defence will be back on top with these two next season are naive. I ask as I haven't seen him play at Mochengladbach until their game against City and he genuinely looks the same build as when he was in reserves, he's one of the most skinny CB's I've seen.  Not criticising and certainly not part of the PL brigade who thinks every layer has to be an adonis to succeed here but it's just rare to see a CB of his build, wanna know how he works round it. He commited 14 fouls (!!) in 39 matches (0 fouls in 5 CL games) last season and received 1 yellow card... Azpi plays very well as a CB but with a healthy Zouma and Christensen he could have a tough time make it into the starting eleven. He isn't too tall(178 cm) and not the best header. Atm we play 3:4:3 and I would play Azpi, Luiz and Zouma ahead of him. Not to mention Conte could go for another top CB. Christensen has a long way to go, but I feel people started to judge him on his passing ability. He is CB first and foremost and what matters is his defending. Secondly, there will be huge physical jump from buli to PL (just take a look at Baba) and things could go either way. Personaly, I prefer stronger, no nonsense CBs like Zouma, Baily ahead of Stones and Christensens, but we will see. The lad plays well and deserves a chance next season no doubt. But a starting spot? No. Not yet atleast. I think we need to take the positives - we have an exciting player with lots of potential i trust Conte to integrate him into the team - we can do this slowly - but isn't it great that we don't have to spend £60 million on a defender?
