frank will be the first choice for this season atleast. whether we like it or not. so i would prefer ramires over mikel alongside him because that way we get a different dimension to our attack and an extra option for mata to pick out while at the same time, he has the stamina and pace to recover.

Not necessarily true in my opinion. With Meireles next to him, Ramires automatically has more defensive responsibility as Meireles isn't as good defensively. That shackles him indeed, but next to someone like Mikel, Ramires would have a lot more freedom. He'd still do his bit defensively, but he wouldn't have to worry as much, and therefore he'd be another option whilst we're attacking.

not necessarily true as the skipper pointed out. ramires can work the box to box role and having him is better than having mikel especially when we want to break down mid table teams. gives mata that extra option to pass to without compromising the defence because he has the pace and stamina to get back. that's the fuckin beauty abt ramires

i would even go as far as playing lampard-ramires or de bruyne-ramires because we have to impose ourselves onto midtable teams next season. mikel will be a de jong in our system. having him against wigan and west brom will be pointless

I'm still not convinced though..The last time he played there he got rolled over by Napoli and couldn't contribute at all, but yes that was with Meireles next to him.

And with regards to Strike's post, has De-bruyne ever played deep? I thought he was used as an attacking mid/winger....

He has been recently turned into a CM. If he truly does have the passing ability and vision people on here are attributing to him, than I think he should be our Regista. We don't need to buy.

Fair point..but I don't think KdB will be ready for a starting midfield role for another 3 seasons.

We either loan him out this season so that he gets game time in a stronger league....or we keep him as backup in midfield and give him 10-15 starts/sub appearances this season.

de bruyne has played deep. plus he has the passing ability to thread attacks from a deeper position. not sure about his strength and stamina but de bruyne is a good option to play in one of the mid positions if we switch to a 4-3-3. otherwise, he should be mata's back up for CAM

kdb should not play double pivot, he's not used to it. he needs and will only play in the '3' in 4231. we should hold on to kdb and use him as super sub. think about this: hazard mata hulk.

so we have marin and kdb on the bench aswell. kdb WILL get games, and though not as many as say a loan spell enough to still benefit and he is around great players he can learn from. kdb can replace hazard and mata, and marin can replace hazard or hulk (either wing). that to mee can satisfy us whole season and lets say one player gets injured for 2months, ramires can fill the wing position!

so simply laid out,

We have Malouda as well and Sturridge can play on the wings if we're in a big injury crisis.

KdB will probably serve as backup to Mata, Hazard at CAM & LW this season....that is, if we don't loan him out.

I think it would be silly to loan him out.

He's only 20, yet already has 92 Belgian Pro League appearances.

We can't just keep loaning out people because they're young. He's better than many people in our league twice his age. (Not literally twice. Do we even have any 40 year olds in the PL?)

He can make an instant impact if given a chance. I'm certain.

UNLESS - he goes to a Bundesliga (I believe they'd be best for further development) club on loan where he's guaranteed 25+ appearances with the club.

I'd be happy with that. No other loan though.

I believe that would be better than 15 appearances with us, even if he's surrounded by better players here.

however we're not playin 433, we're playin 4231 most likely and i dont want believe a double pivit role with defensive responsibilities is where he should play no? if its 433, replacing mata in cam, or lamps in b2b, ok i agree, but not in doubld pivot role, i just dont believe thats the right ppace for him to grow.
