-De Bruyne himself stated Mourinho barely talked to him in 6 months

Btw why are we taking such statements as truths?

Ridiculous to take such statements at fair value, that is like taking the words of your ex as truths after a bitter break up. I don't know KDB but I do know others, almost everyone tries to rationalize their own shortcomings or failures. So why would it be surprising for KDB to pin his failures at Chelsea on Mourinho? Same goes for Mourinho how do you think he is rationalizing things? Probably the same faulting KDB.

This debate is not one sided as much as most want to make it. KDB is doing hot, and Mou is doing the polar oposite. So it is easy to say Mourinho fucked up, and give every benefit of the doubt to KDB. If their circumstances were reversed, I am sure almost everyone would be hailing Mou decision.

Sure Mou had his fair share of fault in this situation but so did KDB, he didn't help himself With his performances in limited playing time and personality.

Sure it would be nice to have KDB atm, but I really do not have the capacity to dwell on the what ifs and live In the past.

IMO we have had very very bad luck with Kevin De Bruyne. We bet strongly in Oscar and we sold KDB and right now KDB is having a spectacular performance and Oscar seems like a joke / disaster / despair.

I admit that seeing how KDB is playing we all have reason to be sad for having sold him but it is also true that Oscar two years ago seemed to be a better promise as a player for our future than KDB. And football is football, sometimes you lose, sometimes you win.

But we should not be lamenting all the day for selling KDB and we should start thinking about signing players with similar characteristics in the market because there are players that could be interesting for us.

Players like Koke, Isco, Ruben Neves, Andre Gomes, Thiago Alcantara, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva ... They might become interesting to our midfield and they may have similar characteristics to KDB.
IMO we should bet heavily on Ruben Loftus-Cheek (I know RLC is different than KDB) as our franchise player. Ruben Loftus-Cheek may become a bigger player than KDB if we bet strongly onhim. Jose should be smart and not let it repeat what happened with KDB.

And maybe we should rethink our strategy with Oscar because he is 24 and perhaps he should go on loan to a team like Juventus (Allegri wants him) because it could be good for his future and also for our future.
KDB is good, but now is our opponent and we have to look forward and forget the past.

You can't know for sure, I'm just inclined to believe a player who I've been following since he burst onto the scene in Genk over the words of, quite frankly, a psychopath.

lewis baker , might be able to match de bruynes passing , set pieces , and goals from midfield.

I am interested to see these portugese players (neves and silva).

I agree with you. And I would love if he could have a great season with Vitesse and thus he could be back with us or on loan next season in the Premier League team (which is also an interesting option as is happening with Nathan Aké).

According to Whoscored, Lewis Baker's rating is 7.5 in the 9 games he has played with Vitesse in Eredivisie with 3 goals and 1 assist.

Hopefully he can continue his evolution and he can be part of our team in the next years.

IMO Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Nathan Ake, Solanke, Lewis Baker and Izzy must be part of our future.

RUBEN NEVES | Porto | Goals, Skills, Assists | 2015/2016 (HD)

Don't kill the messenger.

Not an unknown fact it was De B that pushed for the move, but Jose is the most obvious figure to blame since most people here don't know who our board consists of (I don't either)

Your preaching to the choir mate. I was with the Belgian Brigade hyping the life out of Kevin De Bryune.

Here's some shameless self-promotion. lmao

Mourinho should've given a lot more game time to the kid. Simple. If he did, he'd still be around IMO.

Exactly. Mourinho should give his patience and priority to players who have high technical ability.

Technical ability can never be improved upon after a certain age but mentality can be improved on technical players.

well, our board which is in charge of transfer dealings has been pretty shit for some time now. NOt only this horrible transfer summer so it is well imaginable that they gave in for KDB to leave. IMO he needed the time at Wolfsburg to become the player he is now. Not technically, but mentally. It gave him confidence and resilience he lacked when he was here even though the ability was always there. So IMO a loan would have been the better option. I hope we somehow get some rotation in so we can keep bench players happy. Our mistakes in many cases have been to sell players too early just because we had a prefered choice over them: Robben, KDB, Sturridge maybe even Mata and Lukaku . IMO there is no sense in selling a clearly sufficiently talented player before he has reached his peak or more development can be expected. Even if the players we prefered to them turned out shite, the manager has the right make his pick. Though he should also be able keep the 2nd choice happy. Too often in football have those inital second choice become the better players in the long term.
