"This is the worst I've felt for quite a while," he told BBC Sport. "Performance-wise, I didn't recognise us or myself. It was abysmal"

If people want an example of the difference between our CBs when it comes to using the ball, that is one. Others will look to be proactive with it while Cahill always takes the passive approach. He could have easily passed to Fabregas or even Azpi on the right but instead, he passed it to Rudiger, passed it to the side where West Brom were pressing heavily. We ended up losing the ball down that side and gave away a decent chance for them to score. It's a joke that Conte continues to pick Cahill. All the other CBs in the squad can do what he does and give even more than him.

Is using the ball is the main criterion, Luiz would be an untouchable and lets be honest, Cristensen is no better than Cahill when it comes to using the ball.

It's not the main criteria but it's an important one, even more so in the current system that we're playing. Imagine having 3 passive CBs who only pass sideways or backwards. You might disagree but Christensen definitely uses the ball more productively than Cahill. The latter, quite literally, doesn't take any risks or even try to be a tad positive with his passing. When there is an opening to pass forward vertically or when there is a chance to break the opposition pressure by passing into a player in space between the lines, he will choose to pass sideways or backwards and let someone else take responsibility instead. Not to mention, Cahill is utterly predictably one-footed. Never does anything to try use his left foot. Only have to look at the recent Bournemouth game where they constantly pressurized him onto using right foot and all he constantly did was just passing sideways or backwards.

christesen is 1000 times better than cahill when it comes to using the ball. Cahill takes about 15 touches before passing it sideways or off the pitch , christensen uses it very efficiently, quick forward passes with accuracy

Christensen at 21 is better than Cahill ever was. In physical aspect GC is better, but everything else AC has him beat. Christensen is already good and our 2nd best CB (best natural CB), but I feel he can still improve in his ball play. Too safe and unimaginative at times, want to see him add a spoonful of Luiz or Bonucci to his game. Defensively he will also get only better and tougher, he hasn't even played a full season in this league yet and is already bossing it. Cahill isn't a light-footed footballer nor is he very wise, Andreas is and his reading of the game is damn near perfect, that's why he is ideal in the middle of our back 3. There was a palpable discord between my confidence of keeping a clean sheet and Cahill replacing Christensen. I was even worried we'd throw the game and draw, this is how confident I am with him in the middle.

Good on him... Nice message. Bond to be some idiotic fans who blame him though even though clash of heads and somehow it led to that whereas usually its a concussion if that.

Yeah it can be a natural reaction. Remember loads of Chelsea blamed Hunt for Cechs head injury (fuck me that was 12 years ago !) but I think on that occasion Hunt was deliberately reckless

Yeah definitely. You know sliding at someone at speed will most likely not end well. Maybe not always end badly as it did but you know they're going to come off worse.

Whereas this one header and all nothing wrong with it  .. Just happened to hit heads rather then any contact with the ball.

I read a Spurs fan say yesterday "It was a matter of time before Cahill really hurt someone, he's reckless"

The fact he had eyes for the ball means it wasn't intentional, not only that, but coming from a Spurs fan who supports a team with Delle Alli and Serge Aurier playing for them is fucking ironic at the highest level.

Yup two completely different circumstances, Hunt had time to pull out
