Liquidator 5,176
Ramires and David Luiz were both outstanding today. Malouda was terrible
Peace. 4,352
You think we can just throw on Bertrand and Hutchinson and our entire problems as a team are solved? Players that have little to no experience are expected to come on and take responsibility for the team? As i've said above, the problems in the team run deeper.Yes the problems run deeper. But if we don't start to introduce our youths into the team one day, the problems will keep running.
Slam Dunk 1,442
Yes the problems run deeper. But if we don't start to introduce our youths into the team one day, the problems will keep running. And I agree, my point was that with players like Lamps/Malouda etc who aren't suited to the style of football AVB wants to play, we're still going to be playing the slow, methodical passing around the box type of football. Gradual integration would've been ideal, but with the lack of consistency at the club, we've not been able to introduce young players and have them gel with the established players. We've left it late to overhaul the squad to sum up.To add: It's something Ferguson has always been good at. The squad is overhauled often, yet it's still done gradually enough as not to disrupt the core of the team. I suppose that's owing to their loyalty to the manager. lentherussian 86
His movement hasn't been bad, he has been making good and fast runs behind defenders, but no one plays him in, Arsenal game for example, if you watched him he was making runs then getting pissed off because no one was passing the ball to him. He was even open twice for a simple square and no one could even gave that to him. Can't blame him for not being confident there, it would still be nice to see a supporting winger and a creative midfielder to help him out. If you've watched the past games he barely makes runs into the box anymore, which is good because now he wont get lost in the game, but i think he will be able to do that if we get a better team to help him.I dont agree but it is only my opinion not a fact, i just see little spurts, the odd good link up, the odd good run, over the course of a game i think hes brought next to nothing. As a centre forward playing for cfc hes got to be more effective. Cant blame everyone else for his performances.

True_Blue 469
This game yet again proved that young players don't have a chance at Chelsea Football Club.
Ollie 4,400
It's quite pathetic that we played our strongest team against a piss poor below average championship team with no money and still played badly. Although we won 4-0, it shoulda been 2-0 max and it's depressing to see how little faith AVB has in our youngsters. I wish Brendan Rodgers took over because his teams play fantastic football and he knows how to use youngsters, especially ours. He could be a great manager in the future, hopefully one day with us. Ollie 4,400
I just hope AVB knows what he's doing. This squad needs the mother of all shake ups. He has this transfer window and the summer to make us about 25% better.

Tomo 21,751
1 bad example. But look at what he did with Wilshere & Sturridge. We've never even given the youth players we have a chance. Fair enough if they were given a chance, didn't impress and were dropped. Then we'd understand. But the fact that there's an element of arrogance as to use them is devestating. With FFP coming up, it's the perfect opportunity to promote some reseve players. They demand less wages, we don't have to pay for transfers etc. Hell we could say 'we don't need a right back' if someone took a gamble on Billy Clifford. We could say we don't need Alvaro Perreira if André tries Van Aanholt in a game.Don't get em wrong I still back André, but this is ridiculous.Coyle fucked up with Wiess aswell so it 2-2 in that respect. AVB has done wonders with Danny but so far (can't stress that word enough) hasn't done as good as we hoped with Josh and Ryan so in that respect its 1-2.Seaking of that surely AVB deserves credit for blooding Sturridge?Ive heard a lot of people on here mention about how good Fergie is when he brought Cleverly into the team this season but that was on the back off a loan just like Danny's was, yet AVB gets slated for his youth and use Fergie's promotion of Cleverly as an example of what he should be doing even tho AVB did the same with Sturridge.Yes it would be nice to see Josh, Ryan and co more but Sturridge was the youth, borderline first team player that needed to be uterlised in the team first and AVB has found a place for him and i fully trust that in time he will do the same for those 2. termninja 5,290
Just watched it. Good game, but it could've been much tougher if Pompey scored at the beginning or JT didn't save the goal...Our overall play has been good, but our attacking movement hasn't. We are still having problems breaking teams when they close up and sometimes we look completely idealess. Rarely someone has the bravery to beat a man and do something and when the teams close down it is difficult to find the final pass and our crossing is weak as usuall.I'm really happy to see that Ramires has improved his finishing though, his 2nd goal was really good.Victory, a clean sheet, no injuries and 4 goals. Well done.

Instead of a easy game it could've turned into a crazy one had they scored after his mistake. He did well for the most of the match, but that mistake mustn't have happened. He needs to realize sometimes that he is a defender who has the job of keeping the goal secure and not beating players around him. Just blast the bloody thing away is a couple of players are running towards you!
