Yup, that's why we're crying for a midfield as Mikel replacement. But with Mikel staying, it seems unlikely we will sign anyone unfortunately. Last season we could survive with almost the same squad, hopefully next season we still could do it.

Mikel is good on the ball and offers the ability of transition that Mourinho needs and wants to see. I would've still preferred us to get another CDM but considering the financial restrictions, we have to make do with Mikel next season. I hope this will also give Mourinho incentive to try out Loftus Cheek and give him a proper run in case Matic or Cesc need a rest.
I also feel like Oscar will have a huge role to play next season. Considering we now have Falcao and Costa and can switch to a 4-4-2, Oscar will hopefully be given the chance to play in a deeper role, something we've been waiting to see for a long time; not too sure about Mourinho's intentions, but it could be a solution.

What do you guys think of Ramires' role in the squad next season? Didn't mention him above because I'm against putting him in a pivot role, I would rather have him as an offensive option, he's an ideal player for pressing high up the pitch, can dribble (more than we like to think) and can get some goals/assists. The less we use him the better, he should only come on as a sub or when Fabregas/Matic are injured. We should've gotten an upgrade over him imo

It seems like Roman is tightening the screws, otherwise we would've gotten into a bidding war for several players. Like Jose said for Pogba, he wants the Eiffel Tower but can't get it. Since the FFP has been established we only buy with what we make, and can't afford the likes of Reus unfortunately.

We could've easily upgraded our squad without spending a lot of money on players like Pogba. Witsel, Aranguiz, Sissokho and even a Matuidi would've upgraded our squad without spending big.

Oscar - Fabregas - Matic - Willian - Hazard in midfield is just fantastic and at their best they can challenge any team in the world really with their workrate, creativity, composure and flair. But it is really devastating that there is literally nobody in the squad who can even replicate these players in any way! No replacement for Fabregas, Matic, Hazard, Oscar's only true replacement is Willian and Willian's backups in Cuadrado, Moses, Traore (+ Kennedy?) are decent and have potential to be great next season but that is hardly enough considering the lack of backups in other positions.

Ramires and Mikel are not good enough for the style of football Chelsea showed in the first half, RLC is not ready and he lacks that creativeness that many other youth in our academy possess and he also seems to have issues with the workrate demanded by Mourinho.

Aranguiz, Witsel, Moutinho, Gundogan, Marchisio.....these are the players our squad is really in the need of. Chelsea can still protect the title for sure and definitely has a change of winning it again but I have really hard time believing that the squad is good enough to challenge for ALL the trophies available. We were really lucky last season as there were literally no major injuries besides Costa and it will be nothing short of a miracle if the same luckiness continues this season as well.

That In CDM slot can and hopefully will be filled by Pasalic, who can replace both Ramires and Mikel at the same time. Hopefully he and Colkett will be merged in.

Moutinho could have been perfect, can replace Cesc, can replace Oscar, can replace Willian (then Oscar move to RW).

But he did played yesterday for Monaco in CL 3rd round so i guess he cant play for any other club in CL...?

Ive given up all hope of us getting shot of Mikel and Rami and bringing in the upgrades we obviously need. The only thing that going on about it does for me is wind me the hell up. So untill the situations changed in some way I'm just gonna stay shtum about it.
