Maybe Southampton will have to consider it but as for Atletico and Bayern Munich, they have no intentions of letting these golden boys go. We will waste time going after Costa and Kroos, aside from tabloids I have only hear evidence that they will be staying at their clubs for the longest time. For Costa the only hope I have in us getting him is Jorge Mendes. Kroos is much tougher as I doubt Pep wants to ever strengthen a Mourinho team. If we miss out on Shaw for chasing Costa and Kroos we will be in a lot of trouble, S'oton don't have to sell Shaw.

Costa should actually be the easiest to get I would think since he's got a release clause. Kroos seems like the only nearly impossible one. No way can/would Southampton turn down the money we'd offer for Shaw. They'd be mad to turn down £20m or more.

Release clause means nothing at all especially when they guy changed his nationality to Spanish, I think that is a big deal and the President of Atletico has said so many times Diego is staying. Even Brendan Rodgers knew to stay away after offering triple his wages and getting turned down. We could probably offer him way more than triple his wages but is that what he wants and Atletico are surely going to give him a better contract. Southampton's board has come out saying their financial situation is difficult but has said if Pochettino wants to keep Lallana, Shaw and Rodriguez than he will. It makes perfect sense if they want to do just as well next season. Shaw particularly doesn't need to be cashed in on this transfer window or in any of the upcoming ones as he is still 18, so they could easily turn down the money and potentially ask for more money in January or summer 2015.

What about Bony? He actualy plays very well and reminds me of Suarez in his first two seasons in PL. Suarez scored only 11 goals in his second season, Bony scored 11 goals so far. I think he has room to improve and could be our great striker with little risk given. He is not the best option, but Drogba was questionable back then, as was Milito when he arrived to Inter. There are plenty of strikers available, Jose just needs to pick the right one.

Bony for second striker[emoji7]

Damn I wish we can put in a bid for Javi Martinez, he is being wasted under pep at Bayern. He is clearly not what Pep want in midfield.

A midfield of Martinez and matic is so mouth watering.

Besides our evident need of decency in the strikeforce, the psg game impressively showed that Matic is pretty much the only CM that has the quality to be a starter. Ramires, Luiz, Mikel, Lamps all lack consistency and in some cases class to be there. We need someone to create space and still can defend like Kovacic and probably another one for cover. We are getting bossed in midfield when Matic is not playing.

No fucking way. Matic is already DM. We dont need to play two DMs. The other should be creative, more offensive allround CM ala Gundogan.

Did you watch Bayern last season? Martinez and Schewni was something to watch, Martinez can absolutely play that B2B midfield role and push forward. He is a great passer and he is creative not in Gundogan and Modric mode, but he is far better defensively.

Matic?! Remember the guy? Serbian, 6ft4, DM... We already have that midfielder to do the dirty job, there is no need of Martinez. The Schweini type of player is what Chelsea should look for - Gundogan, Modric, Vidal, Ramsey, Kroos, Yaya etc

Seeing as Barcelona got banned from transfers, Mou should snap up Hummels. He could be a long term replacement for Terry. The funds for Luiz would more than pay for him.

If luiz is sold and we are actually looking for another CB, and if the rumours are true then I'd go with Varane, the rumoured release clause is 25m. Thats alot of ifs, so its really only a hypothetical situation, but a future varane zouma partnership will be great for us and for france. But who cares about france, certainly not me :<

Varane is injury prone though. Hummels is still young as well. Proven and would be just a bit more.

Luiz and Hummels are the same type of player, more or less.

To make myself clear, let's take this pairs. Terry - Luiz and Hummels - Subotic.

Subotic is for Borussia what Terry is for Chelsea. The clear mind. Just defend and that's all.

Hummels is for Borussia what Luiz is for Chelsea. He likes to dribble, to drag himself into silly tackles, silly situations etc. Just like Luiz does.

I used to think like you, that Hummels is the better of those two, but the truth is Subotic is a bit more composed, a better CB. To bad he has suffered that cruciate ligament tear when he was having the best time of his career.

I'd go for Benatia as JT's replacement. My favourite CB in Europe right now.

We simply HAVE to get Luke Shaw.

Our non-attacking full-backs hurt us so much.

We should also bring back Courtois, look for a playmaker CM, buy a top class striker AND buy a quality AM (we need another world-class AM to be able to create something).

I dont know if we'll do all that in 1 transfer season, but it should be done rather sooner than later.

Agree on all but getting another AM, we may also need a new CB if Luiz is sold (assuming Zouma is out on loan next season).

I wouldn't mind seeing Courtois back next season but would understand if he spent another season @ Atletico (provided he signs a new contract).

A LB, CM and ST will be good. If we got another AM: who would/could we get and whose place will he take? Won't it will inevitably be the no 10 role, meaning oscar is either pushed out wide or (as some on here would like) sold? Just interested on your thoughts on that.

I think he'll just replace the less-good AM I guess? we'll have to see who performs better next season.

IMO we need a player like Reus to work with Hazard, because Schurrle, Willian or Oscar are not yet on his level. They are unable to create too many chances ATM. If Hazard isn't active, we're useless. We also lack quality on the bench after selling Mata and KDB. If we play Hazard-Oscar-Willian then we only have Schurrle on the bench, and I guess Salah too but he's still young and probably needs to improve.

If one of them gets injured? If Hazard gets injured.. we're doomed.

Oh right, thought you meant we needed to buy a first choice no. 10 rather than a player that can play in the 3.

Reus would be a dream but cannot see it happening, the money can be better utilised elsewhere.

Well is it that absurd that we'll get him ?

I mean Dortmund are pretty much falling apart. Real Madrid wont buy him, he doesn't suit Barca's style + they cant buy players anyway now. I guess City can bid for him but not sure they will.

How much will Dortmund ask for him?

strange that anyone here is discussing centre backs and attacking midfielders.

anyway, Lukaku rumour.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/03/football-transfer-rumour-mill-romelu-lukaku-tottenham

Why is it strange? We need another quality AM.
