TacticalBlues 2,817
Pato (Mr.Injured) and not Cavani/Higuain?Pato - Mr.Versatile, Mr. Usain Bolt, Mr. Young, - see my point, Pato is a rare breed of striker. Ronaldo (real Ronaldo)-esque and Aguero like. Higuain and Cavani are fantastic poachers who won't be any less of a buy, but in the premier league this guy would cause absolute havoc. Cavani and Higuain, proven as they may be are more reliant on being fed. Great players nevertheless. Pato injuries can be a worry, but maybe our doctors can help him in another way.I know Milan are renowned for their incredible fitness levels, but we aren't too shabby. If this boy can be kept fit he has everything to be one the top players in the world.

TacticalBlues 2,817
1 question, how does one score if there's no-one to give you the ball? /MindfuckWhen I said reliance on being fed I meant like how they play well when the wingers and midfielders are. They are clinical though yes. But with Pato he can make a goal out of nothing, he has that magic. Remember that goal against Barca? Pato can beat 2 or 3 players and score out of nothing. Ollie 4,400
I said Rodwell because i do not like Mikel one bit and for this Fifa fair play stuff, get some good English guys in there. Rodwell is a very good player, not necessarily defensive only either. He's a good English central midfield player.
LDN Blue 7,903
LDN, I am sure that you remember his goal against Napoli last year at San Siro.I do. But we cannot assume he can do that game in, game out. Imagine how many more he'd score if we got a really terrifying midfield. He wouldn't have to play the 'Rooney' role of coming deep to collect the ball.
Badboy 1,526
Ollie he is not going to play consistently like he is at Everton at this club. Romeu is our DM now and i don't think Rodwell will get into our CM especially if we need a play-maker so dearly. We need a player who can release Sturridge, he has got to be around 5'8 from South America and his name has to have something exotic to it like Diego Ramon Lopez SORTED ! But if we were to buy a striker, I mean if our next and only signing is a striker, we should go for his kind, since he doesn't need to be given the ball in his feet to make something. TacticalBlues 2,817
it's not our strongest side.Yes, but as mentioned before this kid is special. If we wait too long its only a matter of time before the likes of Real and Barca pursue him. We have Torres already, who isn't getting anything from our service. I know Higuain and Cavani are clinically superior, and more confident atm but whose to say they can do any better. Pato doesn't need any of that, but can create something on his own accord. It's like Dzeko vs Aguero.

Superblue 6,372
Gary Cahill - Not only do we lack depth at centre half at the moment, but if JT gets a big ban in the new year, we need a replacement for him. Somebody who is used to leading and marshalling a defence. I don't know what his wage demands are and I would like to hope we stick to our guns and don't pay him over the top. However a good, solid homegrown centre half for £7m is very good business IMO.Gonzalo Higuain - If we had a central striker who could score this season we would be right up with City and United. Our midfield finally has legs, Mata provides the creativity and Ramires and Sturridge give us serious pace when attacking. All we need is someone to guarantee the team 20 goals a season (I think Sturridge could, but shouldn't have this burden), Higuain would provide this and if media reports are true that he could be available for £24m he is a must for that price!Milos Krasic - No doubt a talented winger and a different option that the team currently lacks (an out and out wide player). I worry about spending big money on him and he fails to settle (i.e. Zhirkov), but I would be delighted to sign him on loan for the season in exchange for Juventus maybe taking Alex on loan. That way we can see how he performs and if he does well then hopefully a fee can be pre-agreed and we can buy him for a good price in the summer all things equal.
