Of course I doubt very much that Wenger would have allowed. Even if he would have,  Wiltshire has always claimed to be a massive gooner so there's a fair chance he would have turned the move down.

As for the panic about playing our youth as strikers if either get injured, a) we can modify our setup to either play Hazard as a false 9, play a lone striker up front. and b ) you people want all of the benefits of having youth play without any of the risks. Reality is you can't have both; if Conte had a senior striker on the bench there is no way we would ever play Solanke, and then he'd be bitched at for not playing him!

LUIZ UPDATE

Sky sources understand Chelsea and PSG continue to negotiate a transfer fee for David Luiz.

PSG are reluctant to lose £20m on the player so the clubs remain "some away apart" on their valuation of the player.
