J.F. 1,484
Torres will never play again like he was before 2-3 years, that's reality, and we must know that.
bababoom 4,478
Is justin 3d still arguing about him being over hyped?
Kojo 4,676
Ah not going to reply no more neither, as you said it will go on and on.I will just simple quote what this guy said:Okay i respect your decision, and if that's what you think then fair enough, it's your opinion. Kojo 4,676
Torres will never play again like he was before 2-3 years, that's reality, and we must know that.He wont, but i still think he can be usefull, Torres still hasn't scored a goal in the premier league where he was assisted from a long ball or a cross, that's how poor the midfield has been. If we can assist him, which means buying a creative midfielder then i think we can still get a lot out of him, but i do agree, we wont get the torres he once was out of him. It was Abramovich's own decision, and he will regret it, but we have to make the most out of him.
The Big Drog 1,110
Very impressed, always looked to take get the ball to feet even in difficult situations, clearly has a good turn of pace and is quite a powerhouse, it was very reminiscent of Drogba in his early Chelsea days. Sheva. 5,373
Torres will never play again like he was before 2-3 years, that's reality, and we must know that.This. But he still scored 9 goals in the first half of last season alone with Liverpool. So i still believe if he can score, if proper service is provided. bababoom 4,478
Torres may regain form, we don't know. It doesn't look like he will, but he may.
5354 204
As long as mata or benayoun is on the pitch to service him, i think he will score.basicaly if theres drogba/anelka/malouda <<< these 3 will demand for a equal chance with torres to score. in liverpool, torres was the sole striker who has the ability to shoot and finish. tnchelsea 79
When Mata+Torres was on the field, there was a nice link up between the two. I just hope that they get more playing time together.OT: Lukaku played surprisingly good, very mature.
didierforever 7,349
Lukaku seemed quite good. His positioning and off the ball runs were just awesome (pity that anelka dint put him through on one of his runs). But what was a little concerning was when lukaku did get the ball. He seemed a little unsure of what to do with it which really slowed him down. But he's just 18, probably needs a little time.PS : When lukaku first came in and touched the ball, it was as if a young drogba was playing again. He seems like a drogba clone. Ollie 4,400
Does anyone else agree that Lukaku did more in 19 mins than Torres has done in 21 games?I think that's harsh considering Torres has probably had like 3 good games for us in his 20 odd. Lukaku was ok yesterday, looked promising.
Beast 85
The Lukaku>Torres statement was a tongue-in-cheek statement..
BlueLion. 21,491
Why different?Kakuta was suppose to be our next messi. Or as label the Black Zidane! Now this guy the next Drogba? Please, people over hype a player too much!Kakuta won't ever cut it in this league because he is over-elaborate with his ridiculous show-boating.Lukaku does the simple things but with an elegance and grace that belies his strength, size and power. His combination of pace, trickery and strength will see him establish himself as a Chelsea first team player whilst Kakuta will endure torrid loan spell after torrid loan spell until he is eventually shipped off to Hamburg. Badboy 1,526
Lukaku did play simple, he held it up laid it off then got into the box, that is what we wanted to see from him. If we can get midfielders running off him then i think it will be explosive, Ramires is perfect for that role as he causes problems with his pace. TrueChelseaBlue 105
Lukaku played surprisingly well? Wasn't a surprise to me at all, always been a great talent, even at the age of 16 he was a shining star at Anderlecht.
LDN Blue 7,903
I thought this was a thread dedicated to Lukaku's performance, but clearly I was wrong, reading the first few pages Anyway, Lukaku had an impressive outing in those 19mintues. What I like, is he wants the ball to feet. This automatically nullifies the theory we'll be playing the same "hoof it up and hope for the best" tactics we were dreading when we first heard Lukaku's name. It's clear he likes to run with the ball, and actually play football instead of just out-muscling a defender and hoping for the best.He does need to work on his reflexes and dribbling, but that will all come in time. He is 18 so we've got more than enough time to see him develop into a world-class striker. He's got real passion and drive right now, he wants the ball and he wants to play for the team. I think he's more than happy to come off the bench this season, he realises there's quite a huge pecking order for the forwards role, but he's sent out a message to AVB that he is ready to step up if called upon.Good signs, for now. Henri 115
He did really well. Full of power and goal instinct ( Matas goal showed his instinct to be at the right place at the right time). He will not be Drogba, but afantastic Lukaku, so sure this kid will rock this club.
