Regardless whether he's 'good enough' or not, he doesn't have 4+ lungs - we will not compete in many tournaments if we continue this shambolic trend of only having 1 great striker.

We've had Drogba, Anelka, and Kalou at the same time. Lining up against anyone in the league or in Europe, at least with the first two, you didn't expect a downgrade in quality. Kalou was a solid back up.

We've had Drogba & Torres - not exactly clear who was second-fiddle, but we had 2 experienced players who've done & proven it all.

We've had Eto'o, Ba, Torres, Schurrle - all capable strikers who at that point, were still among the upper end of strikers in the league. 4 of them.

Now, we're going to have Lukaku and probably Michy. It's hilarious. These are kids. And they're going to be kids even late into their 30's. 

We've gone from flamethrowers & cannons to water pistols.

Everyone else outside of Chelsea seems to have a shred more sanity. Our fanbase would consider Morata & Lukaku enough; even just Martial & Lukaku enough.

We'll certainly need more than one forward this summer. Surely a coach as good as Conte sees and realizes that. We can't simply swap Deigo for Lukaku and think it's enough. It would be suicide.

My guess is Lukaku + a hybrid forward who can play multiple attacking positions. If Morata wasn't off to United he'd be perfect. Maybe try to pip Juventus to Bernardeschi?

In what world was Eto'o, Ba and Torres (Schürrle was not a striker for Chelsea anymore than someone like Pedro is right now so I'm not including him) better than Lukaku and Batshuayi? 

Hilarious that anyone would even suggest something like that, Lukaku alone will easily score more than all those put together and would expect Batshuayi to chip in with at least +15 in all competitions too, given he'll get more games than last season. Hell, the man scored 9 goals in 703 minutes this past season with practically zero consistent playing time so I have no doubt he'll continue being efficient if he stays at the club. 

And yeah Drogba & Torres of 2012 were fucking unstoppable too, scored an unprecedented tally of 11 league goals combined between the two of them that season.

Prime Drogba of 2010 as the main striker with Anelka and Kalou as other options was a better bunch, obviously.

How many great strikers do Bayern have? Or Juventus? Or PSG?

With Rooney leaving United and even with them likely getting Morata, they'd still only have Morata, Martial, and Rasfrod who can play as a striker. One injury and they'd be in huge trouble since you know José doesn't trust kids. Surely they'll be bringing in 2 forwards.

So let's say hypothetically they make a huge offer for Lukaku and he chooses to go there? He seems to be best mates with Pogba and is yet again on holiday with him in LA so I'm sure they speak about playing together all the time. We know from first hand experience that when José phones his transfer targets he can be extremely convincing and usually gets his players.

 What the hell would we even do in that scenario? Our #1 striker target who everyone assumes is a foregone conclusion to return.
