Perhaps in the real world freedom of speech is allowed and practiced. However in corporate setting/workplace, there's something called moral code of conduct which employees are required to abide by. It's not so much to ask for a young player who hasn't achieved much relatively speaking, to be professional and humble.

Superstars and world class players can get away with such attitude and even then most of them usually do their talking on the pitch.

It doesn't help that he says the wrong thing so often, making himself sound a lot 'bigger' than he actually is and making a rod for his own back.

If he just shut his mouth then he would've been playing for Chelsea last season. If he shut his mouth then he wouldn't have lost a huge amount of goodwill from the Chelsea support.

Actually between Lukaku, Courtois, DeBruyne, and Hazard after the loss to Atletico, whining to the media, seems like a normal thing to do with some of these Belgian players.

He's the one who said he's a complete striker. You cannot then blame others for judging his performances based on this declaration (as much as I agree that his WC performances mean nothing to me as a Chelsea fan). And yes, he does talk, talk, talk ... there's no way an argument can be made against that - he simply talks far too much and far too bluntly for someone who's not done a goddamn thing in a Chelsea shirt yet. How does this analogy make sense? The club (the boss) has never mistreated Lukaku. If you mean signing Eto'o is mistreating him ... well, tough shit; if he cannot deal with mediocre competition like Eto'o, Ba and Torres, maybe he should have stayed in Anderlecht.

A common refrain. Are you saying the tabloids are lying? Did he not say all these things?

Chelsea supporters know him pretty well and are beginning to bore of his incessant commenting. I can show you links to so many comments where he just says the wrong thing, yet you want to defend him in increasingly desperate ways.

The fact is I've praised him for his commitment to wanting to be the best footballer he can be, but his mouth is stopping him. It's a shame but a lot of Chelsea supporters have gone from loving this kid to actually not being bothered if he stays or goes.

Now lets use him. If he does exceptionally well, he will get more minutes and maybe will even force the manager to start playing 2 upfront.

That is the bottomline for the club.

That would in normal circumstances be acceptable, but having Torres as the second striker is not going to cut it for us.

I simply cannot see torres coming on and making us win a game, or if Costa is injured, Torres doing the job for us.

If we dont buy another second choice striker, selling Lukaku will be a huge mistake for the club.

If he is worth 25 million with 2 years left, at worst he will be worth 18 million with 1 season left on contract.

For a few million extra, its not worth having Torres as the one to rely on after Costa.
