Because most are Chelsea fans and Carma is not. Chelsea wants to partially own players. What I mean is while most use the loan system to get players Chelsea uses it for more money.

Chelsea want to have loanees being star players in other teams so for example if coutinho was a Chelsea loanee because of how established he has become PSG will want to buy him for 60m and who gets the money Chelsea and every drop of it. You get it. There is no space for coutihno cause Chelsea will prefer to sell him than to use him and when they receive the money they will use it to buy 1 first team player and 10 players to fill the loan system all worth just some 35m(barrier as other put it) and it goes on and on.

Now if you are a club and u buy a player from Chelsea who probably was a failed project in the system for 28m and you fix and patch the player up and give him an instant starting place in your team for 3yrs no competitor and he finally becomes the guy Chelsea were trying to make him be u will milk any club who want him because you gave him the time to develop not them and we all now that time is money. This justifies his price and not only his performance but the time you too to build him.

If we were going for lukaku 2yrs ago we would be paying maybe 40m. Next year his price will go higher whether he wins any titles or not so will dele alli and harry Kane and belotti and dembele and mbappe and the list goes on.

The true value of the player, and the price set by a club are two different things. Club who want to make a bid will make an offer not far off from his true value. His club of course can set the price as much as their want. Our point discussion earlier, is that I disagree because Lukaku sold 75m, then suddenly it affect all other transfers. Too many factors involved that set the price of any deal, you just can't say because of one specific transfer it will affect this or that other things.

You are talking like the player value could not be the same or going down. Lol, I'll quit with that.

Sure. Let's assume this logic is true for a second. Bakayoko, Sandro, Lukaku are all poor, sub par players. Pogba and Stones in 15/16 as well - really poor players to target.
Let's ignore the fact that since Gourlay left, we have been extremely meek in the transfer window.

And big companies have their executives aligned with their philosophy... So the change from him to her may coincide with the change of philosophy. Saying the problem is who negotiates the deals doesn't make a lot of sense... A club sets a price tag to a player we are interested, it's not entirely up to Marina to reach the value.
Only here I ever seen someone criticising who discuss contracts as opposed to who decides the targets and the plans B, C, D...

A players value can't go down when he is a first team player scoring 20 goals. please you can't tell me that a player who is playing frequent football can have his price go down. Even James of RM will cost above 60m when that was the price he was purchased for. Yes Remy will go down but we are not talking about a Remy situation. Playing time affect pricing a lot more that performance. musonda is a good playmaker but no one will buy him for more than 30m cause of playing time. The Brazilian kid real bought has had more playing time than musonda so will be more expensive. They are both similar in style of play and young that's why I am using that example.

Lukaku deal will  not affect all deals but it will affect all striker deals for Chelsea because the options are becoming less and less. If Real Madrid wanted 80m euros for morata, they will probably want 90m now. Desperate times for Chelsea because of how freaking slow we are. If Torino wanted 100m euros they will probably want 110m euros now. So yes it will affect our striking target but all other position should stay the same and I am saying should because I am not so sure.

Wow, thats a HUGE blow for Conte. No doubt that laves him in a very very very very bad situation in the club.

Manchester United have had a £75m offer for Everton's Romelu Lukaku accepted. How long has this deal been in the making?

I was told this deal has been weeks in the making. It isn't just something they've swooped on today or this week.

Jose Mourinho gave executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward his transfer wish list at the start of May and there were four options for each of the four or five positions he wanted to improve. What I'm told is that, from the word go, Lukaku was the number one target for the striker berth.

I think everybody else assumed Lukaku going to Chelsea was a done deal and that allowed them to go about their work under the radar, without anybody even thinking it was possible.

However, Lukaku told my colleague Gary Cotterill last month he knew where he was going, and it seems like the deal was at a fairly advanced stage even then.

We probably was never after Lukaku in the first place.....

It is indeed. The only way we as a club can redeem ourselves now is by buying either Boletti or Mbappe. Conte is going to be fuming.

Again it is different the value of the player and club asking price. If MU now making bid for Belotti, obviously they will set the special price. To us will they give the same price? I don't think so. The release clause is remain the same (if any). Yes, of course their asking price for us could go up and down, but not because of Lukaku deal to MU. Completely different case. If we want the player and the player himself want the move, the price will go down for sure, no matter Lukaku or other players price was. They will not insisting the price should be higher than Lukaku deal at all cost.

I really hope it's Belloti, because he is the one I wanted before Lukaku.

Not to mention that if we get Belloti and Llorente that will be great.

And we shall see how Tammy does in his loan spell as well.

I hope you are right. If we pulled Boletti off... (transfer, not actually ✊💦).. then I will jizz all over my phone when I read it.

Have you ever had 3 different pestos in your cupboard, all from expensive companies, all with loads of 5 star reviews online... only to try them each, day after another, to discover that one of them...is absolutely bonkers - in a bad way?
Where is the nuance? Why are your reviews so good? Is it because you appeal to a different (larger) demographic, where the others are made with the purest, traditional recipes, for purists?

Lukaku is the lacking pesto. A lot of people think he tastes good, but, those people haven't tasted the superior ones often enough yet. Once they do, they'll only order well-bodied pesto, not the most popular one in Tesco.

Another good comparison would be popular, effective, every day use olive oil from Tesco, what's wrong with it? Nothing to the majority of people.... but go to a real olive oil country, and show them this... and they'll be baffled. Where is the nuance and depth to the flavour? Why is it priced so high when it's just a blend of sub-par olives?

Lukaku is a lacking Italian meal. Belotti at least has some chilli.

I don't believe Marina decides how much Chelsea can pay for a player. She negotiates, she doesn't decide how much Chelsea can pay for a player. The board as a group decides how much they are willing to pay for a player. And it is her job to negotiate that aligns with those views.

Of course. Haven't said otherwise. In fact, I've been saying for years that it's the board as a collective, not the manager or Emenalo or Marina or whoever who decide that. My point is more to do with how we don't seem to close deals as effectively as we did under Gourlay - and in my opinion the negotiator can have an effect on that.
