samzilla 517
Frustrating if we lose Lukaku. Drogba would be a great mentor for him. First we lose Sturridge cause of Torres, now we might lose Lukaku. Ahh Torres, the gift that keeps on giving.
Popular Post! Gilvorak 3,734 Posted July 27, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 27, 2014 Are we really blaming Torres for Lukaku's departure? He's a coward that left on loan to Everton a year ago despite being our top scorer in pre season, he almost certainly would have became a starter if he stayed. He clearly doesn't fancy his chances up against Costa this year either. Fuck him, as long as we get around £30m I couldn't care less whether he stays or goes.Madrid nearly won a treble last year with just Benzema upfront all year, Barca have been reliant on Messi for years. A backup striker isn't a necessity now that we have a 30 goal striker. iseah100, Polo7, stroey and 7 others
Stats 7,142
Who cares... So long as its for a decent fee he won't be missed. We'll just buy someone else. That is the problem. There is no stability or patience. If that is our attitude the youth players could interpret it the same way. They might perceive that they will never get a chance because of that very reason. We will always buy without giving the young talent a chance. He more than most of the young ones at the Bridge should stay. Also funny how majority of people are still calling him a coward. Have you heard him say he wants to leave? I have not. Like I said and will say again, it was indicated that he wants to stay and fight for his place. He is not forcing a move. Some people just don't want to accept the possibility that Mourinho does not want him here. I don't think Mourinho wants 4 strikers next season when we will be starting with 1 for majority of the season. Buying Drogba means he obviously is forcing one of Torres or Lukaku out. It is that simple.Lukaku is the one with the most value and he has scored goals and is still only 21 so common sense would be he stays here but who knows. But with Torres unlikely to move it is likely that Lukaku will go.As for the people who say Drogba's arrival has nothing do with Lukaku's potential departure. Of course it does. Yes he may look up to him but Lukaku is not a kid. He can get guidance but he is not going to need that for a whole season when he has been scoring goals in the PL for fun for the last 2 seasons. It is ridiculous to think that Drogba will mentor him for a whole season. Like Mourinho said, Drogba has been brought in to add quality. Lukaku imo is being forced out. He realistically could be 4th choice striker here.Until people hear Lukaku say he wants to leave, this coward nonsense needs to stop because right now I think he is being forced out because we have too many strikers. 11Drogba, Stingray, Mufassir08 and 1 other

Myself 793
i've only skimmed the last few pages of this thread, but i just have two things i would like to put out there.1) bamford will be better than lukaku in the future.2) he really needs to realize how lucky he is to play for a club like chelsea at all. some people work their whole lives to play for a club like us, they would kill to play for a top club. he doesn't know what it means to play at the top. he really needs to re-evaluate himself. hell, i would even be chelsea's 5th goalkeeper and i would love it.drogba really needs to bitchslap lukaku and tell him what it means to play for chelsea. Ehh. That's true, but he wants to play. I agree being a 2nd or 3rd option here is better than being a first option at Everton or Wolfsburg, but he wants to play.I think last season was Lukaku wanting to leave for guaranteed playing time, but if he gets sold that is down to Mourinho not liking something about him. Whether it's technique, skill, attitude. Either way, Mou knows what he's doing and I agree with whatever he does.

But can you afford £25-30m?Also you won't be able to keep hold of him anyway if he turns good once again. Another 15-20 goal season and Madrid/City are gonna come calling. drog.ba 239
Costa scored 36 goals last season, so is capable of it, even if its more likely he'll get 15-20The key is getting a big fee for Lukaku, eventually someone will pay £25-£30m for him in desperation, Lukaku basically covering the cost of Costa would potentially be great business

Popular Post! The only place to be 11,313 Posted July 27, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 27, 2014 Has there been any vote of confidence in Lukaku from Mourinho? Never. I know which stance I take here. He wants to play and prove himself but once again he gets kicked in the teeth.Yeah, he gave him a squad number at Chelsea Football Club. He got match time for Chelsea Football Club in THREE OF THE FIRST FOUR GAMES of the season, one of which was against the Champions of Europe. What more do you want? A guaranteed start? Well sorry that doesn't happen at top clubs. You have to fucking FIGHT for every start. You have to take EVERY opportunity and you don't quit. Lukaku did quit. He walked up to Jose and asked to leave Chelsea Football Club. In what world does a winner like Mourinho understand that mindset and accept it??Would Frank do that? Would JT do that? Would Didier do that? Answer that question honestly.Who said Lukaku is not willing to fight for his place? He asked for a move last year. What more evidence do you need? If Lukaku goes he won't be missed, he didn't do anything for the club and he is far from perfect and/or complete striker that he claims he is. He is good to start for your team, but he is far from good to start for chelsea. He doesn't want to be a backup here? Fair enough go challenge mid table and whatnot. He's a coward that left on loan to Everton a year ago despite being our top scorer in pre season, he almost certainly would have became a starter if he stayed. This is spot on. It's amazing how certain posters wilfully delude themselves by thinking Jose would respect a person who asked to leave because he had competition for his spot. When Abramovich took over, did Lampard look at the money being spent and ask to leave? No. He worked harder and scored TWICE as many goals the next season. When we spent £30 million on Sheva and £50 million on Torres, did Drogba ask to leave? No.Yet Lukaku gets chances at the start of the season but looks at Torres, Ba and Eto'o and asks to leave for a club with zero competition. What more evidence do you need?No but he could come out and say he wants Lukaku to be part of his first team squad and he is big part of his plans. That does not mean he will guarantee him starts but if he gives him a vote of confidence Lukaku would surely get a real boost and definitely be assured about staying. Have you heard Mourinho in the last few months compliment Lukaku about scoring goals at Everton or give a slightest indication he wants him back? If Mourinho is not doing that it indicates to me that Mourinho is not sure of him. He is a young kid who has proved himself out on loan again and while I am not stating he should be a starter, it should be enough for Mourinho to say he wants him back competing with Lukaku for the striker's position but no word whatsoever. Sometimes the biggest boost for a player is receiving praise from their manager. As for asking for a move last season.... yeah he could have fought for his place but so bloody what. He wanted a loan because he thought it would be best for him. Yes he could have stayed and would of most definitely get more chances but he probably just looked on the pessimistic side and saw that if he could not start the first 4 games when Eto'o was not even a registered Chelsea player and we had only Torres and Ba plus playing Schurrle upfront, what hope does he have when another striker (Eto'o) arrives. Not much. We move on. If there is some grudge being held against him for that it is ridiculous. Move on. Rooney asked to leave twice. Yes he is proven but who gives a fuck, he scored goals and that pleases the fans and all is forgotten once they provide for the team.Lukaku was a 20 year old kid when he asked for the move so I would not even compare Ash, Drogba and Lamps because at a similar age when they just want to play football and live up to their potential they could have possibly done the same. I wouldn't even compare the two situations. As to the respone to the bolded part, I am not talking about last season, I am talking about this upcoming season. Holland said that he wants to come back and fight for his place. But you have not heard anything from Mourinho saying he wants him back. Maybe he has thought that he is willing to give a prolonged period to wait for his chance. Everyone does things they regret. He does not regret the loan move. He has come back with the ability to prove he can score goals and that is the evidence why he says he wants to fight for his place. Also for the people cursing him, saying "fuck him" etc, just..... He's not some YTS kid plucked from the bootroom. Also for the people cursing him, saying "fuck him" etc, just..... People are disappointed. He was this great talent, he loved the club, he loved Drogba but he let us down. We needed him last season and we needed him to fight and instead he asked for a transfer. He left US. He asked to leave US. Why don't you understand that? He got a chance to play for the club you and I support and he turned it down. oldportblue
