Corner 456
I'll just be honest - I'd rather sell him to Madrid/Barcelona for anything above £15mill and then buy Jack Butland from Birmingham City.I can't put my finger on 'why', but I've just always wanted us to have an English 'keeper in the Abramovich era. Also, once Terry, Lamps, Cole etc. are gone, we need good English talent in our team. Sturridge is sure to be gone too, and Cahill isn't good enough to be a starter for us, is he? So why not invest in the greatest young English talent around and just let Courtois go for a big fee?I can't remember the last time I saw an English talent as good as Butland. If I was to rack my brain, I'd probably have to say Ashley Cole...maybe.Butland is going to be absolutely incredible in his prime. That's a good point actually. We have a serious lack of home-grown players... and if that continues then that means we have to leave spaces in the squad registration, which means a squad with less depth. Not good. I would still hate to sell Courtois though.

At the moment he looks like he could be the next Simonsen/Foster/Carson/Robinson and get a lot of press simply because he's young and English.Courtois actually looks like he could be the real deal, has played at the highest level and we already own him. Personally I'd be more inclined to sell Cech, which I'm sure some will look on like it's heresy but it's got to be an option. spidy 33
he is only 20 and doing very well ...... that's the kind of talent we should keep ... but not kill that talent ...I mean cech always play games even Capital one games !!rotation should be applied as soon as courtois get back ...I'll give away hilario & turnbull togther just to keep him-------------------------------that been said ; it just my own opinion Stingray

Courtois has won Europe League, Supercup, and the title in Belgium. Also seen as third greatest talent under 21. And you would get him back to be our keeper in Capital One games?? Spike 12,049
Courtois will be the best keeper in the world at some stage. Trust me I'm a scientist. Danelka and Stingray

Leif 6,006
Cannot believe how cheap we got Courtois. Surely going to be one of our clubs greatest bargains in history.Glad to see he won't be staying at Atletico Madrid on loan again after this season. I was getting afraid he'd become too attached to the club. mediator
BlueLion. 21,491
Needs to be sent on loan to an English club most definitely. Unless Atletico are willing to shave £20 million off Falcao's asking price?
Gorando 184
Winning Europa leagues and playing top -3 football in Spain is spoiling him. Going on loan to Fulham or West Ham doesnt sound very sexy in Courtois ears

Atholy 1,293
Quick question for everyone, Courtois or Falcao?Needs to be sent on loan to an English club most definitely. Unless Atletico are willing to shave £20 million off Falcao's asking price? Strange news in Belgium media (started on rubbish sites but now als the reliable sport websites took this story)=> "Chelsea wants to use Courtois in an exchange operation to sign Falcao. Radamel's pricetag of €50 million is a little bit too much. But since Courtois is said to be happy in Madrid, Abramovitch would like to use him is this swap. Courtois is supposed to have a market value of €13 million. This could lower the price of Falcao sensitively."First I thought 'utter bullsh*t' => no reliable sources AND Falcao has just announced he wants to stay at Athletico until the end of the season.BUT the fact that one of the main newspapers took over this story got me doubting. Truly hope this is a nonsense story. Although it would be great to see Falcao in a blue shirt... it would be absolutely stupid to release Europe's most talented goalkeeper!!If an exchange is on the table... why don't they just accept Nando for around €30 million. In any case NOT COURTOIS!!main source is always given: "the daily mail". However I cannot seem to find the original article. Anyone of you guys can? Hostedenis 556
So far only rumours, no facts yet. I do hope they don't do it, but you never know. Of course they've talked about it, see how much they could lower Falcao's price, the fact that they asked about it doesn't mean they'll do it. They're just looking at all their options. I do hope they don't do it.On a (funny) sidenote: Falcao is called 'el Tigre', the Tiger, at Atletico Madrid. Courtois? The Turtle. "His neck is just so long!", Falcao says. The only place to be 11,313
Cech's contract runs unti 2016 so we're going to have a real problem at some point. Would be absurd to sell one of the most promising young keepers around to Barca, but at some point he's going to want a bit of certainty with his career. Popular Post! Atholy 1,293 Posted January 11, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted January 11, 2013 Here is something I want to share with you guys because I'm sure some of you haven't heard about it OR didn't see the actual images:So in the season 2010-2011 KRC Genk became the champions of belgium. As some of you guys might know... two chelsea boys (although on loan) played a HUGE part in this title.I found a perfect video that shows the impact of both this players on how to get the silverware in!!!KDB was simply brilliant with his assists, tricks and amazing goals (watch a compilation of this from 1.22min in this clip)Maybe even more important was the part that Courtois played in that leagues title. You have to keep in mind VERY well that Thibaut at that time was only 18 years old and he was having his debut season in Genks first team! He saves were effortly one of the main reason the team got champions (watch a compilation of his saves from 3.10min in this clip)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IyZ8-ELHG0Maybe an even cooler video is to literally watch the final minutes of the last game against Standard de Liege. Both teams could become champions that day! Standard needed a win...while Genk only needed a draw. This next video shows you the final 2 minutes of the game... After a 0-1 goal for standard just before the break... Genk brought back hope by equalizing in the 80th minute. The crowd and team were a few minutes away from a title (a big deal for a smaller team like Genk!) and then look at what Thibaut Courtois does for his team.... simply amazing!! Yet to know this guy was 18-19 years old at this moment... The way he deals with the pressure is mind blowing. Also the first save is simply one of the best saves ever I have ever seen live on TV! Especially in that kind of moment! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6bFqffxdwcBest of this all... these two boys are Chelsea players now!!! The future looks blue boys!!!!! :cfc: :cfc: :cfc: pHaRaOn, SykikJV, Stingray and 3 others
