Guest justin_3d
What helps AVB on the sacking front is that;1. Roman paid 15million for him in the first place, surely he will give him more time than the others.2. With financial fair play rules coming into effect this season, we simply could not afford to sack AVB, Di Matteo, Holland, The scout guy and the fitness guy.3. Most importantly - AVB plays the type of football Roman has craved since the beginning and no one (including Mourinho) has been able to bring - attacking, attractive football played the right way.I'll admit I was against AVB's appointment at the beggining, but he had definatley won me over. I don;t think we will win the league or champs league this season - but with the squad he has created I know I am going to be entertained - I actually look forward now to watching Chelsea play.True and very good points.Although i have to mention that we did play good football with Scolari, Hiddink, and Carlo. But those where unsustainable.. We would only play good for a couple of games, and then go back to predictable football, where our opponents would pick us apart. If we didn't had Mata, i think AVB team might have fall under that scenario. But Mata is a such wonderful player, that can make that difference. Waterfall 893
First time I've ever seen AVB angry and blaming the ref...very well said though.Comment on Cole's challenge was his way of saying "Fuck you, you ain't painting me as a hypocrite"
Guest justin_3d
Comment on Cole's challenge was his way of saying "Fuck you, you ain't painting me as a hypocrite"Yeah about those comments.....It sounded smart what he was saying, but when you think about it, it's kinda mess up.No excuse should be made for that horrible tackle Cole made. But he gets by cause he just throw it as a "what if" scenario. The man way of thinking is deep. Tomo 21,751
^That's a big if.So in some sense people are to speculate what Roman will do.I do hope it's different this time. Cause AVB has brought nothing but positive to the club in a matter of couple of months.Very Mourinho like, but unlike Mourinho he does not buy a whole new squad, plays good football, and is a gentleman. If it's true that Roman realized the mistake he made in firing Mourinho, then he should learn that what he got in front of him is more special then the self proclaim special one!Roman happy trigger finger is something overhyped by media and rival fans. They like to think that gaffers get sacked for CL failure but that has not been the case with any.Ranieri - nice man as he is, the only way we were going to win trophies under him was a Liverpool lite 2005 fluke show, he done so much for this club in other ways but i can't believe it was a coinsidence we stopped winning domestic cups regually when he got appointed.Mourinho - Ego clashes and football the complete opposite to what Roman wanted did it for him, if he was sacked for CL failure he would have been gone the second 06/07 ended.Grant - All rival fans and media could remember is the CL final all i can remember is constant losing points in injury time (10 over all), awful tactics and horrific man mangement that got half the squad wanting out, plus the fact he was gone regardless of Moscoe surely dispells the Roman sacks managers who dont win CL myth.Scolairi - Hopeless, had he stayed we would have been lucky to get a place on channel 5, exposed as a one trick pony by Benitez and never recovered.Hiddink - Caretaker, had no intention of staying and made it clear from day one. He didn't win the CL but Roman was still deperate for him to stay.Ancelotti - Media will point to the double but while i wanted him to get one last season to re- prove himself and i defended him on this forum many times, the displays last season were indefendable, i can take defeats when were doing everything to get back in it (like Sunday) but when were losing with half an hour to go and cruising like we were 5-0 up, it makes me angry. ZanSnake 1,211
It is pleasant to see the club is being run HIS WAY and not Roman's! This could potentially blossom into something far greater then any other Chelsea manager has ever done! If we fail to succeed in winning anything, i am sure he will still be here. Hopefully Roman can finally see this club needs to change this season for the greater good, rather then the norm.
Tortilla9 390
Wonder whose calling him Bambi? Probably Josh. I can see it now.Did seem the inmates were running the asylum before with non-Chelsea types allowed to come and go and a less than punctual atmosphere. I'm sure some aren't happy with the new changes and good for AVB for having control and running it the way he wants too. Ultimately its his neck on the chopping block. I guess i can see from the little time AVB has, he looks far superior to the quality these managers had and with what Roman wants. It does looks like if what Roman has an ideal candidate AVB must be it.

GodZola 630
wish he hadn't done that .. could have shown more class and kept quietDon't agree, part of the reason ole Bacon face is so successful is because of his constant barracking of referees were psychologically it always works in their favour with decisions going their way - hence Sunday?! Besides AVB has complained using the proper channels so has done so respectfully which to me is the correct way of making a complaint rather than just slam the officials after a match. strong centreback 157
Old red nose does far worse, all AVB has done is mention we put an official complaint in through the proper channels, cant see that as a problem its not like he openly questioned a referees fitness through the national media, it also like godzola said puts it in the back of the refs mind that we have been aggrieved which may subconsciously sway things in the future our way. He briefly talked about it post-match and he wasn't a raving lunatic about it either. Evidentally watching tape he saw some decisions he felt were blatantly wrong and wanted the point out the error of their ways.
