Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

For me that is the main thing that needs to be addressed this year - getting our house in order......the contracts that we dished out for alot of our existing squad is disgraceful - Malouda and Anelka on 100k a week longterm deals, off the back of 1 good season...JT and Lamps 150k a week on 4/5 year contracts...if reports are true then Ferraira and Kalou are on more money than Mata!!.

We have the second highest wage bill in the league and we definately do not have the second best squad in the league...

I also read with dismay and pray that it can't be right that Kalou has been offered 90k a week for a new deal????

If Kalou is offered 90k a week i will have lost faith in our board , im not slating Kalou we all have are opinions on him. but he is not worth 90k a week.

I think we need to go for a squad revamp next season. With AVB at the helm. The players e has brought have been the best performers and the only thing that's stopping us from playing well is the old guard.

Out: Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Malouda although he has said he wishes to see off his contract, Terry although I am in two minds. Mikel needs to go. His habit of not releasing players and taking more than two touches hurts us time and again. Essien is crock. That's 7 players on sale next season. Unless try go and AVB brings in his players we won't be seeing the Porto football.

He may bring in: Hulk, Hazard, KDB,

The ONLY player worth 90k a week in our squad is Mata......it never used to matter as Roman would always write off our debt but now because of the new rules we can't do that anymore...that self righteous prick Platini has ruined our plans....

Thats the thing time is needed. And yes Hiddick is avilable and seems a likely option but doesnt always work out.Besides he has had the chance to be our Manager it seems and yet has never taken it..maybe he knows deep down things goes wrong he's out sorta thing who knows!

One thing for sure is the squad needs a major revamp, new blood needs to come in and all heck even if its our younger players coming through...they'll no doubt have a willingness to prove to the fans and the Manager and themselves etc that they can be here.Mean Man U didnt add majorly to their squad the last couple of years and were written off but proved doubters wrong sadly....

There are defintly difficult times ahead, teams that werent a threat before are a threat now,Spurs etc and City thought take longer but they've come together and are off and away.Scum and Arsenal dodgy starts to the season but now up they're.The usual teams in the Top 4 isnt a definate thing anymore, hard to predict who it is.

AVB's future can go down in 2 different paths:

1. We miss out on CL and the board decides to sack him and bring in Guus as he is free now.

or

2. He qualifies us for CL and stays, perhaps wins a Carling Cup trophy along the way.

I fully believe that if given time and money, he can build a great team playing attacking football that our favorite Russian has been wanting so long, but for that, he needs to avoid the merciless Roman axe that many have fallen to, including the world greats like Jose, Scolari and Ancelotti.

I really hope it's option 2 :)

He has my support, even if we miss out CL.

AVB has been quoted saying Roman will not sack him. Making me think that he's been given the reassurance of time to build his own squad by Roman, I can't see him saying something like that without backing from Roman.

I read this also and thought much the same. He'd have some pair of conkers to make a claim like that if he wasn't sure it was true.

Yep he'll look a twat if he's sacked at the end of the season. If he's done it without Roman's backing I can't imagine Roman will be too happy.

This is ridiculous! The guy has been in the job for FOUR MONTHS! With a team he inherited. How anyone can say the 'dip in form' is all his fault, he has not even had a chance to make his mark by getting rid of those he doesn't want/need and bringing in those he does. People these days are way too quick to criticise people. Why doe's AVB even need to talk about his future? Chelsea paid £18 million for his services and would need to pay another few Million if they wanted to get rid of him, and who would they use to replace him? It's about time people were given time in football, to make a mark, not just 'win everything in a few months or you're sacked'. Get a grip people, this should not even be news!!

Carlo started saying that a lot when the "bad moment" began last season. If the results don't pick up and we don't return to top 3 by Jan, I can definitely see the chop..

Alright, we've had a bad run. A very bad run.

Back to back losses at SB is something we are not used to, or something we accept. The high line defence isn't working, our strikers are in poor form, we have no creativity in our squad if Mata isn't playing. There is talk about sacking AVB.

Get a grip, honestly.

I'm pretty new to this forum, although I've been following it for a while. But reading some of the comment make me question your tolerance towards the club. Everyone says that Roman is too quick to sack his managers, but still many of the fans are questioning his choice in Villas Boas and are saying he isn't the right guy to lead this team. He was brought for a reason, everyone agreed a transition was needed but still most of you demand that he leaves his tactics 12 games in the league.

You wanted attacking football, you got attacking football. But after a few defeats most of you start questioning every detail of the attack-minded tactic.

We shouldn't be demanding changes so early on, we knew this would be a tough season, man up and take it as it is. I hate losing to Liverpool, but I accept it since I know that we are trying new things.

Have some patience, we still are Chelsea and I firmly believe that AVB will show us why he was brought here. Be it now or next year.

....are you serious?!

Yes..

I am not saying he is past it. He had a tussle with Mou according to Maka and according to him Terry did play a role in Mou sacking. He never retracted that statement.

Terry and couple of players complained against Scolari and got him sacked.

He even tried to lead a coup during the world cup. Wasn't exactly a coup but the way he took on Capello in the media was something. It made me proud to have a player like that but you got to ask youdelf? Can someone as powerful as JT harm his own club? And the answer is yea. If he can do that to Capello and scolari he can definitely do it to AVB.

In a tussle betn a player and manager the manager always must end up as a winner if not then something is seriously wrong at Chelsea and is what is holding back from moving on.
