Term-X 7,891
Andre Villas-Boas: Has revealed that he does not intend to stay in football management for a long period of timeWell, at this rate he will soon get his wish.
TacticalBlues 2,817
Come on guys, their was a lot of things in both of these losses that Andre couldn't cater for - at the beginning of the game who could honestly say they would have fielded a different team against Arsenal? The main criticism is bringing Malouda on but we didn't exactly have golden choices on the bench with our injuries and suspensions. These goals conceded haven't all been as a result of a high line etc. but there have been some awful mistakes, fumbles and decisions against us. Let's be honest a red card for Szczesny would have made a huge impact. This has been a very very difficult week on and off the field for us and we shouldn't make it worse by piling the pressure on the manager... You don't have to complement him but just don't bash him - it wasn't exactly his fault Terry fell was it? I'm just very glad that this week is over but one things for sure, these continuous refereeing decisions against us surpassed tedium long ago - I hate having to bring it up as a source of 'justification' but had the referee got that one decision right we could be in a very different position today. manpe 10,861
Chelsea conceded 15 goals in 10 games, in 2004-2005 Chelsea conceded 15 goals in 38 games.so, if we keep a clean sheet from next game in every game, we will equal the record... yes, we can do it

Peace. 4,352
I think he will have to turn away from his high line defense, for the moment. I like this tactic, and I like the fact he want us to play this way. But at the moment, we haven't the personnel to allow us to play in such a fashion. Indeed, Bosingwa hasn't any defending ability, and Terry is too slow for that. And to play this way without the right personnel doesn't pardon in a pacy league as the EPL.With a new right back, and the partnership Ivanovic-Luiz (???- Ivanovic - Luiz - Cole) I think we'll be able to play the high defensive line without taking too many risks. LDN Blue 7,903
We now look ahead to two away games in a week, at Genk in the Champions League and at Blackburn in the Premier League next weekend. Villas-Boas insists he will be changing nothing.'The philosophy is a personal value and a club value. You should never sell it cheaply. It is something that makes us all proud and we will stick to this philosophy. It is our way of playing and we are proud of the way we play. We just have to correct things.'In the Champions League the scenario is another one. We can get in a very good position if we win the game. We have a chance of qualifying if Leverkusen wins. It's a different situation.'Regarding the Blackburn game it is two defeats in the Premiership and we have to bounce back with a win. We will have to find winning ways straight away.'http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2498567,00.html

Tomo 21,751
Luiz and Romeu are must's when we go to the Emirates.TBH this match could be a blessing in disquise if it makes AVB realise that Bosingwa playing in the big matches won't win many if any points and David Luiz has to play every game. Peace. 4,352
I can see where TermX is coming from, even if I find his view a bit harsh.André has his share of errors, to be frank. We can't be in denial of things. We can blame him to have failed to fix all our problems during the mercato. Indeed, we didn't buy the most needed playmaker, the right winger and the right back. We also can blame him to have decided to keep the likes of Malouda and Kalou, who are totally useless (except fo our opponents). To keep sticking with Bosingwa, when he is clearly not good enough to be a part of our club, is also one of his mistakes. And, to make us play with a high defensive line while we do not have enough pacy players (especially defenders) to play in such a way, is his error. But, on the other hand, thanks to him we play faster ; we are attacking-minded ; we've stopped the side-passing ; we start to be nice to watch ; he managed to impose a team-working ; etc... laura90 556
I respect AVB and I am fully aware of the fact that he is now doing the toughest job in the world of football. I also know that he is a very young manager with very little experience. I love this club, I suffer on days like this but as long as he is Chelsea coach, I will fully support him and hope for the best. But, for his sake and sake of this club I hope that he he at least learned something from today's defeat and that he will never ever :- play high defensive line again (doesn't suit to our defenders, or Premier League in general ).- play Bosingwa at right back position again( the man can't defend, neither can cross)- play Ramires - Mikel - Lampard midfield again( Not creative enough. Oriol or Meireles should play instead of Mikel, or whatever, but these three together - are one of the worst midfields in the Premier League. With this midfield we have played our worst games ). People tend to forget that so far we have played and won against weaker opposition , not particulary good at converting their chances. So this game must be the one to learn from.I believe he will figure out our weaknesses and problems . I also hope he is not reluctant to change . He should start on his January shopping list . We lack quality in certain areas to master his new style. I also hope he will get enough funds for that purpose.
Blue Armour 4,439
The one bright spot in all this is that these so-called disastrous results have happened so early in the season so that AVB can actually do something about it. At the same time we are not yet out of contention in any of the 4 tournaments this year. Besides the squad is almost fully fit which gives him options to tweak his tactics.. Ollie 4,400
From a big physical power team that could bully teams, to a bunch of pussies. I love AVB but i dunno what's going on, this wasn't Chelsea today.
Kojo 4,676
Am I the only one who thinks people are incredibly harsh on Bosingwa?, he delivered 2 good crosses in yesterday and one shit one, he's not that bad at defending, he's not invincible, very rarely you get a fullback who is a world class defender, and a master crosser who posses pace and trickery all at once. To keep sticking with Bosingwa, when he is clearly not good enough to be a part of our club, is also one of his mistakes.I would have like to think that if he had been appointed earlier i.e. before/during the summer break, he would have gotten rid of those players. Anyway we did bring in Mata & Meireles who are improvements on what we had Am I the only one who thinks people are incredibly harsh on Bosingwa?, he delivered 2 good crosses in yesterday and one shit one, he's not that bad at defending, he's not invincible, very rarely you get a fullback who is a world class defender, and a master crosser who posses pace and trickery all at once.Agree to an extent, but he was at fault for 3 of their goals. He is decent at times but just disastrous yesterday. He just shouldn't be played in the big games. Name me a RB that is available who will do a better job than him defensively...?
