BlueLion. 21,491
Cheaper, younger, better than Modric. I'd be all for this transfer.Proven EPL class, and for half the price of Pastore, someone also with Champions League (group stage ) experience. Spike 12,049
Nasri is a goal scorer, not a creative midfielder. He likes to dribble the ball and try to smack one in, rather than pass it and get an assist. He is a great player, but do we need a goal threat from the midfield when we have Super Frankie Lamps?07-08 was his best year 6 Goals and 15 Assists in all comps. While in 10-11 he scored 15 times and only assisted 5. Guest justin_3d
so we should never sign anyone from within the league now because Torres had a bad season? Great postNope, but that is a poor excuse.Just cause he is not or is proven EPL player...got to take chances like we did with Ramires, Ivan and David Luiz. EPL experience is always a good thing to have when signing a player. I dont think we have ever shirked from signing a player from outside the EPL anyway

Kostas 1,468
I'm sure that him being one of the top 5 strikers in the world had nothing to do with it.

LDN Blue 7,903
Torres' name really has to stop coming up in transfers now.. Buying a player like Nasri, who has premier league experience is a good signing. Why is that point being compared to Torres? Their situations are completely different. We spent 50 mill because he is a top class striker being touted not even 1 year ago as one of the best in the world and because that was the amount the dippers wanted for him! Plus you have already clearly wrote Torres off after his long spell here, I prefer to wait till he has had a decent chance before using him as the yard stick to which all future possible failures will be judged
Guest justin_3d
I'm sure that him being one of the top 5 strikers in the world had nothing to do with it.Yeah but David Villa is better then him, and Barcelona spend less then we did on Torres....Nope, i am pretty sure it is because Torres is one of the most recognized player in the world and he adds so much commercial revenue into the club.So is Tevez, and he cost less then Torres for City.....you didnt actually point that out in that post tho.Dont think we ever announced that we spent 50 mill on Torres because of his PL experience did we? THATS THE PRICE WE HAD TO PAY!

Ill be interested to hear your comments should he go out and hit 30 odd goals next season!

And so far his first season was disastrous. Let's see what he can do in the new season.Cause the 30 odd goals could be done by Falcao or Cavani and would cost less.
