To tell you the truth, having two playmakers on at the same time sounds interesting, but if it means muscling out Essien in the starting eleven, then I'm not going for it!

We need Essien's strength in midfield, that's what makes us dominate!

Pastore 45m :Goober:

It would be great to get either Nasri or Modric. They are young and have been playing in EPL for quite some time. Good proven players that will do us well.

... True...

And if We would buy Modric and Nasri (24yo) we solve our midfield problem for 6-7 years (with Ramires and Mikel and Josh they will be the best midfield in europe)

Here's the article on Skysports.

Blues enter Nasri chase

Top trio battle for Frenchman

Sky Sports sources understand Chelsea have made an enquiry for unsettled Arsanal ace Samir Nasri.

Nasri's future at Arsanal has been the subject of intense speculation this summer with the Frenchman yet to agree a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

The skilful attacker is in the final 12 months of his contract and is believed to have rejected Arsanal's offer of a contract extension.

France international Nasri enjoyed an impressive campaign in 2010/11 but he has refused to pledge his future to the Gunners.

Manchester United and Manchester City have both expressed an interest in signing the former Marseille man should Arsanal decide to sell him.

However, Chelsea have now entered the race for the 24-year-old with new Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas keen to bring Nasri to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have made creative reinforcements their top priority this summer and they have already seen a bid rejected for Tottenham's Luka Modric rejected.

The Blues could now turn their attentions to Nasri with Spurs reluctant to lose Croatian schemer Modric.

If Gael went to City, maybe he will follow Gael to City as well?

Mancini will be doing some good business with this.

Nasri will help them be more attacking minded, then the typical negative football they have been practicing.

The EPL will now have a stronger candidate for the CL, then the sorry as Spurs.

Oh now Chelsea in for him.

But that article from skysports is not convincing for me.

It looks like somebody made it up in the sky department to raise the price of the player as the media did for Coentrao.

Jesus christ....

garbosj Ian McGarry #CFC interest in Nasri doesn't affect bid for Modric. Different positions and AVB plan for team would accomodate both. #AFC #THFC

What a load of bull . The news just broke barely half an hour ago and he along with everyone else found out just after . Complete speculation , he makes it sound like he had AVB on speed-dial to find out what his plans for Nasri and Modric were .

why would sky have any interest in getting nasris price put up? That makes no sense at all

Because as of late the Skysport sources understand have been very poorly.

That is very poor journalism without having any adequate quote to back it up.

Second day in a role i see that.

First was with Modric, that they knew he would tell the chairman to leave spurs for Chelsea, and now this....

there twitter accounts are all the same, complete fabrication and myth. Its like the fella who was running the neymar story, he just completely back tracked after months of telling everyone it was all a done deal. They have free reign to write whatever comes into their heads. . . A bit like on here ;)

Would be a good signing but if it were a choice between Modric and Nari Id pick Modric everytime. If we end up signing both then its important that Sturridge starts on the right wing, Nasri is a technically fantastic player, creative and will probably link up well with our players but he is pretty similar to Malouda in that he wont skip past players for fun out wide, its important that on at least one of our flanks we have a winger who can actually go by a man.
