Jacopo Sala Joins Hamburg On Three Year Deal

sala_03.jpg

Hot on the heels of Michael Mancienne joining Hamburg earlier this week, news is breaking this afternoon that Italian midfielder Jacopo Sala has also been snared by Frank Arnesen and has signed a three-year deal with the German club.

The Italian, who has represented his country at all junior levels up to Under-21, was not expected to move, with a year remaining on his contract, but has this afternoon been unveiled as a HSV player.

name="Arnesen"]"Jacopo is a player with a bright future. He has gone through all the youth national teams with Italy and has excellent physical properties and skill too."

"Playing for HSV is a great opportunity for me. It would be great for me, if possible, to develop quickly here and play with the first team, because this is a great club. Whether in Italy or England, HSV is known everywhere."

Sala has appeared on the first team bench on a handful of occasions due to injuries and appeared to be making his mark on Carlo Ancelotti as one for the future, with his mature brand of trickery and playmaking ability developing nicely.

However, with his sacking and the departure of compatriot Fabio Borini on a five-year deal to Parma, the opportunity to move abroad with an eye on accelerating his development has proven too good to turn down.

More on this story as it breaks.

Its our fault for giving them hardly any chances, not just recently but for years.

The majority of our reserve and youth cup winning team have the potenital to be some of the best players in europe (in their position) but we never give them a chance to prove it.

From the official site

Chelsea Football Club can confirm that we have agreed terms with Hamburg for the permanent transfer of reserve midfielder Jacopo Sala.

The 19-year-old Academy graduate was a key figure in our 2010 FA Youth Cup success, operating largely down the right of midfield, but struggled during the last campaign with injuries.

Jacopo is an Italian Under 19 international, and appeared 12 times for the reserves last season, added to the six he made in 2009/10 and the three in 2008/09.

Everyone at Chelsea thanks Jacopo for his years of service and wishes him well for the future.

Another one gone, Best of luck kid.

So what is this the 3rd player from Chelsea Youth to goto HSV??? When did Chels decide to develop HSV players??? Also I find it bit disturbing that all of the youth products are bailing out. I guess if they can't play 1st team ball why stay??
