No tree, left our decorations in the US We're not doing gifts this year, we are taking a family trip (since we will only be in Asia for 3 years we are trying to see as much as we can) and donating to the needy children Haven't found any advent calendars here (probably just haven't look at the right expat store)

Indifference and tolerance aren't really the same thing nor do they go hand in hand. The team is struggling, I doubt you find a member here that wouldn't agree with that statement. I think the point that True_Blue and Sloth are both making is that we are Chelsea fans and we stand behind the team in the bad times as well as the good. We have faith in our boys because we are Chelsea. It is as simple as that. Now, having said that, yes we are well aware that the team is struggling, we are aware that things need to change but I am not going to start saying the club is doomed or that we will be relegated. We are still in the top half of the table for goodness sake and we have turned around seasons like this before and come out in the top 4. I will keep the faith! UTC!

I am so excited the game is on at a time I can actually see it!!! woohoo... now to find a pub where I can go see it!!! at this point I just want them to win... I have my list of players I wish AVB won't play, but honestly, I'm not up for the debate or am I sure that it has anything to do with their form since I haven't seen a game live in so darn long! LOL

So glad to see him making a comeback! I was able to see him play when he toured the US before his injury and I was disappointed that we weren't going to see him in the first team... and now there is hope!! With the dedication and drive he has he makes some of our other players pale in comparison!

So sad to hear, I hope for the sake of his family they find some reason behind his death because they need closure. The rest of world doesn't but his wife and children do, they need a why and they need to know it wasn't them. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children, I hope they are able to find the healing and closure they will need in the coming months and most of all I hope the media will leave them alone.

opps, i am so tired must not have read your post right. I hope it goes well and I will be thinking of you

Just donated but 2 quid is definitely do able for me and I don't mind at all. I also know a lot of you are students and can't donate much so I don't mind throwing in a little bit more every now and then to help keep the site up and running.

American Samoa - First ever win in FIFA WC Qualification round
BluesChick replied to Melanicus's topic in Football Chat
they have now one 2 in a row and if they win tomorrow they move to the next round of qualification for the world cup, which would be nice to see. I hope they don't over shadow their success on the pitch with talk about the one player who is fa'afafines or a lady boy as they are known in Asia. Some of the articles I have I have read have concentrated on that which is sad since there are so many other players on the team. -
Oh good, I'm glad you're getting it taken care of! Are you feeling better?
-
I think I followed a link from somewhere, I would have been looking for info on JT and Lamps when I first became a fan and then for information on the team. It's been so long ago I don't remember! LOL
-
Come on lads, please play the way I know you can!!! PLEASE!!!
-
that would make sense but I wouldn't even trust him to stay put that long look what he did to ManCity

I have a friend in the US that is an electrician and I will ask Bill about how things are going but I know that you will need to be careful to look at which states have trade unions because that will determine how easy work will be to find. Some Each state is different as to it's trade union laws and your need to belong to it in order to work. which is one of the dumber parts of the US laws if you ask me. Asia is where the growing market is

I just read AC Milan is considering making an offer for Tevez, really??? Why would any club want him? He is a liability and if he goes there in 6 months to a year he is going to do the same darn thing to them that he has done at every other club he has been at. Look at his track record it speaks for itself.

I doubt any government is in alignment with all of it's citizens, but I think the US is probably in more of a crisis of confidence more than others at the moment. I certainly wouldn't say I agree with my government but I tend to be the corner skeptic when it comes to politics... any politics. The US can be a wonderful place, but like I said above it depends completely where you are and what you want to do. So my advice to you is do your research and know where you would want to go and if you know people living there already, then I would look at the area they are living in. Make sure you look at the unemployment rates in those area and what you would need to do to get a work permit and for visas. All those things take time and money. I know this because I am living the other side of that as an American expat living in Asia.
-
So you are willing to live in a country that you don't like the government to take advantage of their economy..... But to answer your question, the US economy is not any better than the economies in the Europe. The state of the US recession depends on which city and which state you are in. Some states are in very bad condition and have horribly unemployment rates. No country has been immune to the economic crisis that is going on.
