How many cups or titles has Arsenal won in the last 4-5 years? How many times have Arsenal been in the top three? There is a point between Youth and expierence. To replace one manager so that he can play youth is just suicide for the club's constistency. Carlo has had a blip, and thus had pressure on him to perform, why would you take the risk in playing youth players or inexpeirenced players and hope for the best? There are oppertunities in some players that i am sure Carlo should have done another way, but that what happens in football. Whose to say that if Hutchinson didn't have to retire that he wouldn't have been competeing for a first time start now-a-days? Cork and Mancienne are the only players (Betrand also) that i can think of that can make some kind of effect on our squad that is a youth product (Betrand i am not sure about).

He will go back to france, and no matter when i am not bothered. If he can perform between now and whenever, and get us some trophies along the road then that would be perfect! Otherwise, i'll wait and see.

Incorrect! They played in the YOUTH TEAM but came from another teams youth academy. McEarhan will be A Youth Academy product, so would have been Cork. They were signed at 9 yers old and went through the academy to go into the Youth Academy, we bought Bruma, Kakuta, etc. from other teams youth academy's because we could offer something which those teams couldn't - a world class coaching (i would hope so saying Roman put it £350million).

Probably going to mean the end of the world for the media!

Anelka/Torres would rape ManU's Defence. The speed and the strength of Torres with Anelka's 'bright spark', could actual make a deadly partnership.
-
i am somewhat hesitant to believe this, as what the date is, but i shall see if i can find a source first...

Because in five years time, Lukau will be 23 and Torres would be 33. Maybe a simple buy and loan back. If Drogba and Anelka leave and Kalou is sold (unlikely since Carlo likes him) then our attack for next season would be: Sturridge -- Torres -- Borini (if kept) -- Mitrovic () But add someone: Sturridge -- Torres -- Lukaku/Neymar We then have a two deadly finishers (Sturridge and Lukaku), two target men (Torres and Lukaku), two skillful attackers (Sturridge and Neymar). We could develop a deadly varient of attacking style to the team, imo.

This is a discussion in Neymar transfer thread, and it has somehow managed to get it's own as well as adding up in Lukaku's. I firmly believe we shouldn't believe the hype of either transfers to much, and take it one at a time. In my personal opion our transfer targets should be: 1. Sanchez - we need a proper right winger, and he could be it. 2. Hamsik/Pastore - We really need another attacking minded midfeilder that has some kind of freshness, obviously due to the fact that Frank isn't getting any younger and McEarhan isn't ready YET to step up straight away to the first team. 3. Van der Wiel (IF Bosingwa is sold) - If Bosingwa is sold, he would be the perfect replacement, Quick, skillful and is still under 25! With Bruma looking like he isn't best at RB, i would buy him straight up then we would have choices: Luiz - Ferreria - Van der Wiel - nice looking choices in IMO. 4. Neymar/Lukaku - In reality, we need to buy one or the other or not at all. Neymar has the potential to be a big world class player and has already been linked with some big teams, and with the option of him playing on the wing, it adds a dynamic that we could use tactically. He would be the first type of winger that we could use to expose the right/left back of the opposition with actual skills, i think the last type was Robben. But, equally can be said about Lukaku - strong, determined, and can finish. He is younger, therefore he can have more time to develop with the style of play. But, with both Torres and Sturridge, both of whom would be looking to be the future of the front line, possibly together, they aren't MUST buys. It is down to whether or not what does Carlo/Roman want to do with the team. Personally, i would just wait till summer before assumptions can be made. But i would say one thing - our transfers hang onto what we achieve and whom is still here at the end of the summer. I would love us to go for Phil Jones - English, young and is a JT-esque player - but we already have so many defensive options IF Bruma is going to accounted to be joining the first team next season, then i would be doubtful of his signature.

Chelsea's spending spree will continue in summer

Neymar could be used as an either winger or an forward, which i could rather use him as a winger. Sanchez as another winger, and then Lukaku, a young strong forward. The someone like Hamsik and that's all. The forward isn't really needed, tbh as we still have Sturridge who looks like to have the potential to become a class player. -
Play Ivan on the right, with Alex in the middle and Torres/Anelka up front is the best thing i can think of.

Welcome! Always nice to see more members joing to add to the discussions around here.

Lukaku, Hamsik, Sanchez, Neymar, are some of the players i would love to see come to the club. Lukaku is the future Drogba, the perfect replacement as well. Hamsik is the kind of attacking minded midfeilder that we need, and Neymar and Snache are the wingers we need for the 4-3-3 to work.

Just a has been old man who has nothing to do then get the odd pay day talking aout his one and final time at the 'top' of the football chain, which he wa a failure. Let him believe his own crap while we go on winning competitions that he can only dream about winning.

And yet another hopeful shout for the youth to become apart of the Chelsea first team squad. Jack Cork is unlikely, Chalobah is a talent but isn't going to be featured till the next 3 years at least. Ones that could but maybe not would be Bruma, Van Aanholt, McEarhan, Mellis, etc. The ones that sit on the bench might have the smallest of chances, IMO.

I would love to see at least one Englishman come into the team, be it Phil Jones or not, simple reason is, we haven't bought an Englishman (since my knowledge) was Turnball, and he isn't exactly an impressive and important piece in our puzzle. Wouldn't mind James McCarthy either, even though he is Irsh -
Torres and a Kalou/Anelka partnership would be interesting attack to watch. Both have some skill, both have some off the ball work, and both have some kind of finish. Torres clicked well with Kalou, and i think he will form a brilliant partnership with Anelka as well, probably the most deadly, at the moment. Drogba maybe also could add something beneficial.

Too much of a decent signing and player to come here, will no doubt fuck off to Man Shitty for about £100 million, play about ten games, sit on the bench for a season, and then next season get loaned back to where he was bought from and then sold. Looks like his future could be set, but who knows?

1. We don't need another midfeilder at the moment 2. I bet he will stay at Bayern 3. If he did leave it would be with Madrid rather then here, Madrid would pay ANY wage bill in order to gain such a talent My views.
-
I will be dissapointed if he EXPECTS to be a first eleven starter at his age. He should earn the oppertunity, in my opion, and i am sure Carlo is going to rotate the midfeild center (Essien starts big game, Mikel starts week before big game or smaller teams, etc.). He is a quality player, but he is also still young. He can be useful in some style of play in order to tactically break down a team, maybe he wil get time from that and then if he exceeds the role given he can gain more playing time. If we sell him though, i wouldn't be too happy if Man Ure were the team he went for, especially with all the shit we went through to get him here and the rivalry we have with them. Also, IF he leaves, McErhan should be 'promoted' in his place, rather then buying another player. But i do hope that Mikel can wait for the summer to make his final decision rather then to dwell on the fact that he is being sidelined for players that are playing in more form then himself.

What a powerful shot! He does remind you of Kaka though

Thing is, the difference between Sheva and Torres is simple. Whereas Sheva was older and was a brilliant striker in Italy and recognised as one of the best, we took the risk of him being able to adapt to the English game with the price we paid. Unfortunately, Sheva wasn't able to adapt, and the game time he did get was a substational minus to what he was needing due to the competition for the striker's role and the in-form Drogba at the time. Now, Torres has been in the English league four a couple of years and has a terrific goal scoring record with Liverpool, one plus against Shevchenko, another is that he is younger then when Shevchenko came to SB, another one plus. Also, Torres was brought in half way through the season, meaning that he didn't ahve the essentail pre-season games to mold into our playing style before a competitive game - instead he was against his former club. I soley believe he will score a couple of goals between now and the end of the season, maybe some crucial ones that could get us in the CL final or a contender for PL, and then next season he will be like a new signing, scoring goals for fun, like the Torres before this season.
