But we have enough talent to make any system work against teams that aren't to the mark as Man United. Man Ure can work different formations, and so can we, but we have never really ventured into it. 4-3-3 is our strongest formation as we have used it for longer and have found large amounts of success with it. 4-4-2 is in the 'working' stages, so if i was Carlo i wouldn't use it in such an important game. Also i would have put Drogba on the wing. But, who is to say it is a 4-3-3? It could be a 4-5-1 or even a 4-1-2-2-1. Because that IS our formation? We played better in the last ten minutes with an 4-3-3 then we did for most of the whole game.

Some enthuaism, finally!

Sturridge seems to be quite the level headed bloke, and is a quality player. He should definitely be considered for the first team next season, let's hope Carlo sees that the same way.

I personally can't see that much of a lift from him, looks like he is a player who thinks his position in the team is cert and won't up the game like he did last season. I don't know, probably i am wrong, but i really think that with Zhirkov being the only left winger we have, he does think like that. He looks like an outspoken person, with all the interviews he has done to the media in the past. Personally, i would put Betrand for contendership as a winger with Zhirkov and Malouda, and if one goes during the summer then add another one or try to give Lalkovic time on the bench and some game time.

And not play Lampard nor Drogba? Are you insane Would love to see this happen, but it would make to much sense, therefore wouldn't happen.

It isn't like Roman or anyone from CFC is actually going to look at the poll and say, ' Hey, they don't want him? Why won't get him then!"

He was much better in the second half as a striker, in the first he was a 'team' player. Played better when we switched to 4-3-3, maybe putting Drogs on the right and him in the centre could get him to start bagging in the goals?

The team -as a whole- didn't perform this season, and only a few players has had sparks - this season. Blaming a set of matches on individuals is rather ridiculous, to exploit one player's fault in order to fuel your own permistic views isn't 'supporting' the fullest of the team. Bosingwa may play better as a winger, but he is in a Chelsea shirt and does his all for the badge - then that is good enough for me. I would rather have a player that plays for a club with heart and honour, then a player that is selfish and disrespectful for the club he plays for.

I honestly think it is because of the anchor man role, where Mikel/Essien would be the third man in the centre during attacks from the wings or is sitting atop of the defence ready to break down attacks or slow them down. It is more logical that if we have two attacking minded players in the middle, i would have them forward rather then forcing them to come back and do a defensive role. The 433 is a counter attacking system either, which we can be masters of when the right tempo type of players are playing. Also, excellent summary of the match Alex. Always seem you do the most perfect reviews of our games.

The future is way forward and we are in the middle. Why suspect the future and take risks in the middle when were trying to go forward? Why go down the rocky road instead of the clear stated road? We cannot expect nor suspect what is on the horizon for Chelsea, look at the whole Torres ordeal, who would have expected nor suspected Roman to do that?

Is it me or doesn't seem that Ash's crosses haven't been 'connecting' that well this season?

We were shocking. Torres had SOME bright moments, but his diving put them to shame imo. Frank wasn't the same, and passes were unreasoningly bad. Drogba played well in the 20 minutes. OUr attack seemed non-consistent with every time the midfeild had it. And the defence had some shocking moments. Who rather play 4-3-3 in the next game tbf, at least then we have an anchor man to help build from the back (Mikel/Essien) and two players running forward (Lampard/Ramires), and put Drogba on the wing as his crosses today were lethal if someone was on the end of them!
