Mata has always been an understated player though, even when he was our star for the 1st part of last season. There was always a understated element to his character and how he operates on the pitch, epitomises class. He was never going to be the 'poster boy' of Chelsea or the Premier League, like Hazard has the 'potential' to be.

Courtois' reservation of that number has been denied then.. The number 13 actually has a short history of being taken from people at this club. Peter Kenyon stripped Gallas of the number 13, when Ballack's adidas representatives demanded it as part of the deal for marketing purposes, it's what lead to Gallas' exit, his ego was knocked, Kenyon went over his head.

Judging Ivanovic's season so far, his goals have been somewhat of a saving grace, I'd expect Azpi to pose a serious threat come September.

Indeed, I've stated it a few times already on this forum, that Courtois reserved the number 13. Awful choice of squad numbers, they won't sell. Azip should have requested the number 5 shirt, and Moses the number 15, Malouda & Essien won't need them.

Oh fuck off, I don't want Mourinho's back to back titles to become worthless and lose all value, because that's what will happen if City equal it.
