Probably Arsenal, Arteta seems keen on spending big. Zubi + striker + Rodrygo would be a pretty good window for them.
-
Wonder if Bournemouth can pull off another scalp this season and get 3 points vs City. Ideally, we were all hoping West Ham got a point vs Forest but it wasn't meant to be. Then you'd have must watch tv on the final day. Newcastle vs Everton Forest vs us United vs Villa Fulham vs City
-
To be fair, it's not just him though, if the owners actually had ambition for the club, they'd sell off a number of players in the next transfer window.
-
That's the real problem with the whole first XI setup. We have 3 guaranteed starting quality players and I'm not sure if they've played 15+ games each this season (James + Lavia + Fofana).
-
The good old days of having Kante in midfield and opposition teams realising they had to get past him. Now all we have is the glass version of Lavia, hoping that he makes it through each game 😄
-
Why is Mudryk being mentioned? He hasn't seen the pitch in months and will probably be unavailable for a very long time. Surprised that we didn't have any other youth strikers on the books as George definitely isn't someone you want playing up front.
-
Well...I'm sure the club thought they had a competent striker when they signed Nkunku from Leipzig....but he just never recovered from that pre-season injury and at times this season, he was literally walking around the pitch.
-
I do wonder if it'll be Enzo, Caicedo, Santos, Lavia (no-one will take him now considering his injury issues) with that guy from Sporting staying on loan next season. Would love to have Wharton though, should be a top level PL midfielder for the next decade.
-
Would Eze and Palmer fit together though? And you would think Pep would be all over Eze to help fill the KDB void
-
that December/January run really cost us in the end. Draw with Everton, loss to Fulham, loss to Ipswich, draw to Palace, draw to Bournemouth.
-
if we are to actually compete against the big PL sides, we need a GK, at least 1 quality leader at CB and a proper striker. He's still a rubbish keeper and wouldn't be #1 choice at any other top 6-8 PL side. People forget that the Brighton manager lost faith in him and made him 3rd choice keeper at one point....and we still have him on the books as our so called #1 keeper 😆
-
I doubt he accepts a squad role after being guaranteed starter.
-
Even that's not guaranteed, Villa are on equal points, they have Spurs and United left. Forest have West Ham then us at home. If we don't beat United, might as well play the kids against Forest as we definitely won't beat them at their home ground.
-
That doesn't matter at all, United always turn up for games against us and you know Mount will be looking to score to silence the crowd.
-
Imagine peak Mourinho trying to manage the current squad 😆
-
I think the fact that we threw away top 4 (and potentially UCL football next season) actually helps the owners continue the 'buy young' strategy. Maybe if Maresca and the players were serious, we would have won those games against the likes of Ipswich...
-
Betis have enough to beat us as we're prone to mistakes but hopefully our big name players show up in the final and take it seriously.
-
Inter shouldn't even be in the final, Barca and Yamal hit the post like 50 times against them across both legs of the tie 😆 Would love to see PSG lift the title, just for the social media banter with Mbappe afterwards and Enrique deserves another title, definitely one of the better managers out there.
-
They play Liverpool and Newcastle in the PL, would be hilarious if for some reason they lost both games and City took 2nd spot
-
You left out United and you can bet they'll be up for a fight against us, especially after their recent Europa form.
-
Would say that's on Enzo as well. I don't recall us being that wide open for counters with Gallagher in the middle. That may be true but he's the only consistent midfielder we have in the squad. Enzo's had a mixed season and Lavia's barely played. Would hate to think what our points total would be without Caicedo in the lineup.
-
Its such a shame that we have to beat Newcastle & Forest away to have a shot at making the top 5. Good win against Liverpool, nice to see Palmer finally get back to scoring, when he hit the post from that tight angle, I thought it wasn't going to be his day!
-
Problem is Lavia's fitness and until Santos returns, we won't know how he plays next to Enzo in midfield. There's also some serious interest in Santos from other clubs, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with him.
-
Credit to Lampard for going back to coaching, could have easily stayed on as a pundit.
-
Barkley just lacked high football IQ, he had everything else, just never really took that next step to become a 10+ goal a season player.
