the commentary writes itself "Liverpool on the counter, Salah in space, gooooooal" 😆
-
His release clause is 45 million, significant interest from Real, United and Italian sides.
-
The way Betis were moving the ball around and creating chances against Fiorentina, I'd be concerned about the final.
-
So what happens when we finish collecting all these ex-city players only to find out that Maresca has been sacked 😆
-
Wharton will be snapped up before he can reach that sort of price tag. I doubt Palace would be able to hang onto him that long, sort of like Olise going to Bayern and Eze will be linked to plenty of clubs in the summer.
-
What style of football does he actually play? We're definitely not dominating midfield, we just recycle posession for no reason and without Palmer in his purple patch of goalscoring form, we've gone from a 2-3 goal a game team to clinging onto 1-0 as a way to win. As for deep tactical understanding, he's NOWHERE near Tuchel or Conte or even Mourinho.
-
He'd probably fall out with a player like prime De Bruyne as he doesn't have the winning mentality or experience of Pep. Pep went through Barcelona, Bayern Munich before City.
-
Other than Gabriel and Havertz, seems to be pretty much their first XI. Its not like they're missing Saka or Odegaard
-
It's a shame when we have multiple broken goods... W.Fofana, James, Lavia, Broja...
-
Will be interesting to see how Sanchez and the team goes in the next 2 PL games. Liverpool/Newcastle will decide whether the team is actually up for a fight for 5th spot or not.
-
To be honest, Nico has benefitted from the club's relutance to go and sign an experienced CF....and considering Nkunku has been un-interested for most of the season, he's the only CF we have.
-
What's the point of having Broja on the books? He's barely ever fit and doesn't seem to have that x-factor in attack either.
-
Even with Disasi's limitations, Villa still gave him a loan deal in January as they wanted cheap depth. I don't recall much interest in Badiashile, expected him to kick on this season and be a good squad player.
-
That middle part becomes irrelevant when earlier on in the season, he was saying things like top 4 isn't the target....yet multiple players were saying CL football next season is important... Seems like he's still here because he's a yes man to the board. 😆
-
If we're in Guehi, you would think the deal would be: cash + Chalobah.
-
I wouldn't trust the current scouts/directors we have in place to sign that top-class GK. They would be more interested in splashing the cash on Liverpool's #2 keeper than an actual decent one like Costa.
-
Southampton's GK? Ramsdale is no different to Sanchez, both blatantly average keepers. Even Pickford isn't amazing, he's sort of like Kepa, has the saves in him but lacks the build/frame that you want in a GK.
-
Neto is a weird one as the skill is there and he can run for days but I really wish he had that clinical finish in him. Feel like he could easily be a 10 goal a season player with a better finish in him, saw that during his days at Wolves as well, can see why Arsenal wanted him as another wing option.
-
Pretty sure there is a restriction on the number of foreign loans you can have during a season, sending Sancho somewhere else just to statpad doesn't really make sense. He's not worth the 25 million fee that United negotiated, they're probably delighted to get those wages off the books.
-
I don't see him picking us once Liverpool/Arsenal join the party.
-
Could it be Alonso and Wirtz moving together?
-
Almost like our team is built to play a more direct style of football....and what actually contributed to a lot of goals in the first 10-15 games of the season. Then the change came through with possession first and the results went from top 6 quality to top 17 quality.
-
It was those 4 games around December that cost us a top 4 place. Draw v Everton, loss to Fulham in injury time, a pathetic loss to Ipswich and then another hopeless draw vs Palace. Should have been at least 6 points from 4 games. Forest play sides outside the top 6 (other than us), Newcastle have Brighton and Arsenal away and they won't lose to us at home.
-
This depends upon whether the club can find a good manager to lead this young-ish side and get us competing for the top 4. There are a few holes in the squad (GK, CB, CF) but there's enough quality to be giving it a go against most PL sides.
-
Maresca just lacks something to win games. Nowhere near the skills of Conte/Tuchel. Keeping him for another season would just mean that we're happy to be a top 7/8 PL side and we have no ambition to crack the top 4.
