  1. I wouldn't mind Martinez. He's in his prime and should be more than capable of leading the line at Chelsea... That means next season: Martinez would be #1, Lukaku #2 and Torres #3 (I'm expecting Eto'o to leave and Ba should be gone sooner rather than later)
  2. Based on our December fixture list, I can see Mata potentially playing against Sunderland, Crystal Palace & Swansea/Liverpool.
  3. The Problem is, Spurs didn't need to spend 100 million in the same transfer window. They should have signed 2 or 3 new players, let them adapt to the EPL...assess the situation and then bring in more new faces if needed.
  4. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/nov/26/andre-villas-boas-tottenham-manager AvB to get the sack? Would be interesting to see who they get as a replacement.
  5. I just hope we get some depth in midfield. Lampard is quality but he's 35 and he really shouldn't be playing EVERY game. If we can't get the midfielder we want, Cabaye (newcastle) wouldn't be a bad option
  6. Poor performance, at least the good thing is Schalke drew with Steaua.
  7. Expected West Brom to finish the job in the second half after leading 2-0... Credit to Villa, they seem to be responding well to Lambert.
  8. Moving away from SAF and the Clueless Moyes... Apparently the next manager to get the sack will be Hughton (Norwich).
  9. I'm just as sick of people exaggerating Lampard's play. Yes, he's still a great midfielder but he clearly isn't suited for a deeper role.
  10. It's tough to say this but selling Mata for the right price wouldn't be a bad option For example: if we could get 30 - 35 million and reinvest that money into a CM/DM capable of challenging Mikel, Ramires, Lampard.....I'd be happy
  11. Spurs were absolutely awful. AvB should really be questioned on the players he signed with the Bale money..
  12. Even if KDB is sold, we're going to have a strong group of attacking midfielders.
  13. Whats the point of signing Falcao? We need to fix the midfield before signing a striker...
  14. It all depends on our midfield and the team's intensity throughout the game. Expecting a 2-1 win for either side
  15. The media attention came from the fact that United had a rubbish midfield yet Fergie was unwilling to take a chance on Pogba. Pogba had plenty of talent, I remember Scholes saying in an interview for MUTV (in relation to Pogba): You can't teach flair, technique & determination. As for the Lewis Baker comment...comeon, let's be serious, that was an unfair comparison..in Baker's case, he'll probably end up playing Championship/League 1 football.
  16. Romeu's potential was exaggerated because he came from Barcelona's famed academy. After reading multiple Spanish reports on Romeu..it's obvious that Barcelona sold him hoping that he would be able to refine his skill set at Chelsea, then they could buy him back in 2 seasons time and make him a squad player. As for our own academy, in terms of development and age, I think one of Aké, Chalobah or Loftus-Cheek will make it at Chelsea.
  17. He wouldn't really upgrade our midfield options...we still need someone capable of pulling the strings from deep.
  18. http://www.videos-football.com/video-569187-brazil-5-0-honduras-i-brazil-vs-honduras-5-0-i-all-goals-i-international-friendlies-i-17112013.html Quick highlights of Brazil's win against Honduras.
  19. Yeh let's just go ahead and sell our best CM. The fact that he's being forced to play as a holding midfielder due to Lampard's rubbish performances in a deeper role has nothing to do with his performance, yea?
  20. In terms of our rivals in the PL, City don't need an AM, Moyes wouldn't know how to use KdB properly & Arsenal don't really need an AM. I think if KdB was sold, he'd end up in Germany.
  21. It's not like Robbie will be handed the managerial role at a top club...he's still an average manager with an okay record. He's going to end up managing a mid-table side. As for your comparison with Scolari and Ancelotti (in previous posts)...unlike Robbie, they were going to get top level jobs at club/international level at some point in time due to their reputation.
  22. Definitely shouldn't be starting for England. If Cole was in form, he'd be starting without a doubt...but he is ageing and I guess it's time to give Baines/Shaw/Gibbs the opportunity.
  23. Cech has been inconsistent this season...just looks more vulnerable than usual. Hopefully Courtois is brought back to challenge Cech...
  24. Trying too much to impress...sounds like Sturridge's situation whilst he was a Chelsea player. At the end of the day, KdB has to show that he's better than Hazard or Willian or Schurrle to play at Chelsea...and based on his performances this season, he's not on that level yet. KdB played well at Bremen..but we have to remember that he didn't really have competition for his spot in the starting XI.
