I'm more worried about Spurs potentially signing Willian & Erik Lamela. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/10254237/Willian-poised-to-join-Tottenham-in-30m-deal-with-Romas-Erik-Lamela-next-on-Andre-Villas-Boass-radar.html Arsenal have problems all over the pitch...I'd be delighted if they end up signing only Di Maria

For me, it still doesn't make sense...he had the opportunity to leave Germany, seek a fresh challenge in a more competitive league and potentially earn more money...yet he'd rather play it safe and move to Bayern. I'm just assuming that either: a) Lewa's agent has a fishy deal in place with Bayern munich. or Lewa has always wanted to play for Bayern munich in the back of his mind..
-
That's a bit unfair on Mikel. He's still a solid midfielder, when given the chance to express himself on the pitch (as shown by his performances for Nigeria). Very interested to see how Jose utilises Mikel's skill-set...he's not a genuine defensive midfielder...but in a 3-man midfield, he could finally show some consistency in his performances.

If Cahill starts...Benteke and Gabriel will be delighted.
-
He's just lost that explosive spark in his game...and once you lose your main ability...you tend to become an average player. The only reason why Torres is still at Chelsea is because he's on high wages that no other club wants to pay. If he was interested in finishing his career with some freedom, he would of taken a wage cut and moved to Spain.
-
And that's the problem. We are paying someone 175,000 a week just to 'help the team'.... At the end of the day, Torres is finished, the only reason he's the starting striker at Chelsea is because of his price tag...and the fact that Lukaku is still developing his skills. We've given Torres so many opportunities and he keeps failing (apart from last season in the Europa league). If you want a striker who will 'help the team'...why not start Ba for 60 mins and then bring on Lukaku/Torres against tired defenders?

Well said. Manchester City's lack of team chemistry will hurt them sooner or later. I like the signings that Pellegrini has made, particularly the speedy Navas, who should solve their width problem but with large transfer fees, come large wages and big egos. It'll be interesting to see how Pellegrini controls the dressing room when Man City don't win games. As for Chelsea, I agree with your point, this is a transitional season because of all the young players on our squad. I'm really interested to see what Mourinho does with the likes of De Bruyne, Schurrle, Lukaku, Van Ginkel as the season goes on.. I still feel we lack that dominant striker who can win us games single-handedly (e.g. Rvp for United) but we should be capable of winning something this season.
-
Not sure about Buruk Yilmaz...he's good but is he really an "upgrade" on Lukaku, Ba and Torres? I'd much rather Martinez from Porto..an athletic freak, good pace, can do the unpredictable...would add some x-factor to our team. In other news: United bid for Fellaini and Baines again.. http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/onthemove/id/11533?cc=3436
-
You have a fair point but I don't think bringing in an unproven striker from Portugal is going to help our team straight away... We need someone experienced that can lead the line..and take the pressure off Lukaku.
-
If only Roma wanted Torres...that would be the perfect scenario. I reckon a bid of 10 million would be enough for Ba.
-
I highly doubt Torres is capable of doubling Lukaku's goal tally...unless of course Lukaku fails to score more than 9 goals this season.
-
I don't mean this the wrong way...but you'll always be the odd one out on this forum. You decided to join a Chelsea forum as a United supporter/follower...hence at some point in time, you were 'bound' to receive some nasty posts about United, refereeing decisions, conspiracy theories etc. You seem like a knowledgeable person who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty. Hope you stick around, its always good to keep an open mind and read different views from different fans. We're all passionate about English football..let's keep the fights to a minimum.
-
Apparently we want him if the Rooney bid fails.. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/423047/Borussia-Dortmund-triple-Robert-Lewandowski-s-wages-to-ward-off-Chelsea-interest I just don't see us getting Lewandowski.
-
I'm loving the transfer window...no-one really wants to join United since Fergie is no longer there and no-one wants to join Arsenal cause they haven't won in 8 years (e.g. Gustavo, Jovetic). Moyes is just lucky that he's got the best striker in the PL to bail him out of tight games.
-
I'd prefer to see Mata start against Villa...he needs some match fitness before the United game and we should try to finish Villa as early as possible. Then in the second half...the likes of Essien, Van Ginkel can come off the bench for 25-30 mins.
-
Would be great if we could get rid of him...
-
Good game overall. Brilliant first half, quiet second half. The addition of De Bruyne and Schurrle will provide us with a plan B this season. (Glad to see Benayoun is no longer at the club)
-
At Shaw's age, he needs first team football to keep developing. No point for Chelsea to buy him..unless Southampton agree to sell and take him back on loan for a season or two..
-
Happy to see no Mikel in the lineup today.
-
Hopefully Torres has a decent performance...
-
Surprised to see Crystal Palace only lose by 1 goal. Their midfield sucks, no link between defence and attack
-
We all saw match of the day..but in real-time, there's no way the referee saw Laurent's leg catch Agbonlahor's back leg which brought him down... It was a tough call but the right decision..
-
Intrigued to see how Soldado & Paulinho fit in at Spurs.
-
I hope you're joking...Ba would of been a good option against Hull.
-
This can't get any better...Wenger fails to buy a decent first team player even though he's got the cash, they get well-beaten by a young Villa side and now they could miss Ox-Chamberlain for a month or two.
