Atsu needs playing time...being Chelsea's 6th attacking midfielder will do f*ck all for his development At least if we loan him out to a more competitive league (Germany maybe?) and he does well, it would increase his 'value' in the market
2 positions? Without Ramires, there is NO defensive cover in midfield Could you imagine if Matic gets injured...neither Fabregas or Kroos is that good defensively and Van Ginkel is only coming back from a long term injury
I just don't think we need Kroos though (unless Oscar leaves) A midfield group of Matic, Rambo, Fabregas, Oscar, Van Ginkel, maybe Chalobah seems good enough
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jun/15/southampton-new-manager-ronald-koeman Southampton's new manager is going to be Ronald Koeman Interesting choice
The starting lineups aren't for the entire season....it's more along the lines of what everyone feels will be the 'preferred XI/ strongest XI' next season (without accounting for injuries, form, opponent)
The question with Oscar will always be consistency until he's able to play a part in winning back the league title I hope Oscar has a strong world cup and continues the good form with Chelsea next season
I can see where your coming from....but for some reason, he just sounds like a confused 21 year old who has received poor advice from agents/management in a World cup year I totally agree that he talks a bit too much....but he's still young, and I'm sure José and Chelsea's leadership group can teach him how to deal with press conferences and interviews
Obviously Torres will talk about new signings in a good way, he doesn't want to leave the club and risk losing 175,000 a week for putting in 2-3 good performances over the course of the season
People will realise the mistake we made when Lukaku goes on to score 20+ goals on a consistent basis (for his next club) and Costa turns out to be a flash in the pan
There is no conflict, you have one of the best young strikers in the world and he's under contract at your club. Either use him or regret letting him go like Sturridge All this talk about mental strength, how he asked to leave the club....geez, he's 21 and still maturing as a player and a man
The issue with Kalas is a lack of playing time. He might be more ready to be part of Chelsea's first team...but another wasted season with 3-4 appearances won't help his development
It's not about spending 30 million on a 27 year old...from what i've heard, Arsenal want to spend on a quality striker and a new RB before reinforcing the midfield..
I think the 5 year contract is a common concept Bertrand signed a 5 year contract (doubling his wage) at the end of 2012....and now he's all but gone from the club (Hull or Villa being likely destinations)
Fair point...but I just don't see any hope with Torres. The best thing for Torres would be moving back to his boyhood club in Atletico and ending his career there... If he stays, I'll support him like any other Chelsea player but deep down it hurts to see such a well-paid player fail to perform game after game after game..
