You didn't mention Torres, but I don't think he is going anywhere. IMO if we bring some big money striker, that'll mean Lukaku is spending another year on loan somewhere.
-
Outs: Turnbull, Hilario, Ferreira, Benayoun, Malouda (they are all out of contracts) + Marin and probably Piazon Ins: a new backup goalkeeper, a new double pivot man or a DM, if the double pivot is still used under Jose (Witsel, Alonso, possibly Khedira or even Modric), a new striker (using Lukaku or buying someone among Lewandowski, Cavani, Falcao or Wayne Shrekski) and Schurrle

Alright, they'll play for 16th consecutive season in the Champions League but so what? How many memorable CL campaigns have they got? 2005/2006 is the only one that comes in my mind.

If you have some Spuds supporting friends, now is the perfect moment to give them hard time

What a great way to finish the season. 6 wins and 2 draws in our last premier league games! And those matches include away matches to United and Liverpool and home games against Tottenham and Everton. We finished 3rd paving the way for exciting summer chasing top players and the return of The Special One. Oh and not to mention winning a prestigious European trophy as well. With all the positives from the last two months, the season doesn't feel all that bad
-
We got our fairytale ending just like last year. 3rd place and another European trophy doesn't sound bad at all. Now looking forward to the summer and onto the next season with our ambition to win the EPL title higher than ever. Well done to Rafa, it wasn't an easy spell for him with all the media and especially fan pressure and he did have some really tough time in January/February, but bottom line is he won us a prestigious trophy and qualified us for next years Champions League and I'm very thankful for that. Regardless of everything he and our fans are separating on good terms. Good luck, Rafa, and all the best

I think we'll win because: 1. we have much better players 2. we can't let Arsenal take the 3rd place from us 3. Everton's season finished last week when they bid farewell to Moyes

Any streams out yet?

Finally! We get to see this legend in our favourite club's shirt for at least one more season. I will definitely get the new home shirt with his name on the back, which is going to be my fifth Lamps jersey

We won the two European trophies in two consecutive seasons. That's an amazing achievement in any way you look at it. Get in there! :blue scalf: -
Europa League Final 2013 - Benfica 1-2 Chelsea

I have the feeling I am reading statements like this one before every damn match Keep calm and KTBFFH! -
And there I thought the season can't get any longer
-
The only thing I care about is us finishing third. I guess that means I will be a bit calmer if Arsenal fuck up their match vs Newcastle since they are the only ones who can challenge us for that third place.
-
If Arsenal win against Newcastle with more than a 1 goal difference and we draw Everton we'll finish 4th. We have some more work to do.

He watched Torres from the bench and when he was actually given some time on the pitch he was selfish, wasteful and ineffectual just like the better part of last season - grow up, Sturridge lover.
-
Someone made a very valid point that Sturridge in Liverpool and Sturridge in Chelsea are two extremely different cases. Crucify me if you want but IMO Fernando Torres in Chelsea is/was a better option than the latter.
-
Yes, the thread is here for a reason and everybody has the right to voice his opinion, that's a given. I got a bit annoyed as it seems as there are some people, who I guess have some extra Sturridge love and everytime he does well they are trying to stick it to the other Chelsea fans and in particular to those who never liked Danny and in the same time when he plays like his usual uneffectual selfish self they stay quiet. It's not that I think Sturridge is not talented I just think there was no way for him to get accommodated to our attacking regime and especially with more top european strikers appearing to come our way. So in the end of the day it doesn't matter (to me at least) how many goals he has scored for Liverpool and how many good games he's had with them.
-
I am really looking forward to seeing those ingame in the final match against Everton as we usually use that opportunity to advertise our next years' kit.
-
Please don't tell me everytime he scores there are going to be complains how we shouldn't have sold him and how good he is. It just wasn't going to work out with him and Chelsea.
-
Who would I like to miss out on top four? It's a tough question cuz I despise the both North London jokes just as much. I'd like to see Wigan keep their EPL status and if they manage to get something from their trip to Emirates that will guarantee us the third place. Really dunno. Let's go like this: Arsenal losing to Wigan on Tuesday and then whatever happens on the final matchday.

Words can't describe how happy I am for Frankie. He proved again to be our savior and greatest ever player. No wonder he is the favourite for most of us, a legendary man and the best role model! Thank you, LEGEND! :cfc:

Are we going to finish in the top 4? - Achieved!
different level replied to Styles's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
So here top 4 is secured. You know, many of us have repeatedly stated how horrible this season was and how we can't wait for its end, but if you look at the standings we have 72 points with one round to go which is more than last two full seasons: 2010/2011 - 71; 2011/2012 - 64. Actually what hurt the most was the early CL departure and not getting at least one of the cups that the Champions League win allows us to play (not even the Charity Shield...). I think we were hit by the great expectations to challenge for the championship, but the fact is this was always going to be a transitional year after so many changes in the summer. However our season definer is still ahead of us, so more thoughts after the Europa League final. -
Anyway forget the stupid opposition fans. We have a historic day to celebrate for our legend and best ever player. SUPER FRANKIE LAMPARD! :blue scalf:
