So, finally the November fuckfest has concluded. On second thought, last year on the 1st of December we played West Ham and it turned out one of the most torturous experiences of the season. I want to see something extremely different from our boys, but not only in this game. I want some consistency dammit. I'm sick of having a bad day at the office every two weeks. That's the team I'd like to see: -------------------------Cech--------------------- Ivanovic--------Terry-------Luiz-----------Cole ------------Ramires--------Mikel---------------- Hazard--------------Mata-------------Schurrle ----------------------Torres-----------------------

So, I couldn't watch the game last night, because I went out with friends. Later in the bar I understood that we lost and naturally I was pissed...But I didn't lose my marbles until after watching a detailed highlight video of the match today. I was like "Wow, really? Not a single dangerous attack? Not a single shot on goal?? Why are these Swiss nobodies all over us???". And naturally all the depressing thoughts have returned. Ironically with that loss we went through, but let's be honest how can a team which succumbed to Basel over two matches can be considered the 4th most likely CL winner? As for the players fielded against Basel, I want to see them benched on Sunday against Southampton with the exception of Cech and JT! #fuckoff #bunchoftwats #ihatenovember #kneejerk #usinghashtagsmakesulooklikeanasshole

LOL, Spurs conceded again after a bad clearance from Lloris
-
Demichelis looks very shaky.

I really thought Schalke are going to trouble us (maybe at least in the match on Veltins Arena) but we got two 3-0 wins. Alright then. A win against Basel and we're winning the group.
-
We stayed 2nd, but at this stage the position is not so important, the number of points is. I'd rather sit fifth in the standings, trailing the leader by 3 points than be 2nd with 5 points behind.

No cock ups here. Jose said he made 11 mistakes today, well he can make 11 changes to the starting lineup for all I care, just win the damn match and prove the slip up at Sports Direct Arena was a one-off.

I really hate it when we play in the early Saturday afternoon. A performance like this and I don't wan't to hear anything football related for the rest of the weekend.
-
I ABSOLUTELY hate the fact that we got another away match which is our third in this competition. Meanwhile some teams like Spuds are getting only home matches. The FA needs to find a way to guarantee a balance between the home and away fixtures for every team in the tournament and the same regulation should be applied for the FA cup as well..

Nice! Arsenal never looked like scoring. It felt like we played Swindon again
-
-
Finally, we've beaten those bastards! And in the sweetest way possible. KTBFFH!
-
Watching United right now makes me feel sorry that we dropped points at OT.
-
If they finish third in their group they're going to the EL, so that also wouldn't make their schedule less busy.
-
Thanks, I think that clears it up. Anyway It's highly unlikely to have the need to apply those rules in the end.

It was different with us and Shakhtar. We had the same number of points but they had better head to head record (by conceiding less goals in the home fixture). However in that case there were only two teams in question. In the possibility that I suggested we have 3 teams with the same number of points with their head to head records cancelling each other out. Actually, there is a similar situation in the standings in that group right now. Arsenal 3 2 0 1 5 3 +2 6 Borussia Dortmund 3 2 0 1 6 3 +3 6 Napoli 3 2 0 1 4 4 0 6 Marseille 3 0 0 3 2 7 −5 0 Considering we are looking the head to head games: Arsenal beat Napoli but lost to Dortmund, while Dortmund on the other hand lost to Napoli and all the teams are tied in points. So why are Arsenal first? The head to head tiebreaker is not working under these conditions and Dortmund have better goal difference.
-
Hopefully they'll sign him and he stays there for a while, so he can laugh when they get relegated in the end of next season
-
Just had a look at Arsenal's group again and was thinking of the following scenario. Knowing that head to head games is the primary tiebreaker when two teams finish with equal points, then what's the procedure if: 1. Dortmund, Napoli and Arsenal finish equal on points 2. Dortmund have better head to head record against Arsenal 3. Napoli have better head to head record against Dortmund 4. Arsenal have better head to head record against Napoli If that happens then head to head games are ignored and the criteria is the teams' goal difference in all the matches, right?

I could barely watch the game because the picture in my stream was freezing in every 20 seconds, but obviously I'm really pleased with the outcome. Torres for MOTM!
-
So we know Schurrle and Cole are unavailable. That means Bertrand has to step up and Jose can give De Bruyne a start after his solid games for Belgium last week.
-
Can't see why so many people are so eager to move Cech out. He's just 31. That's a great football age for a keeper and the way I see it he has at least 5 more years at the very top level and why not even more - look at what Van der Sar did in United. Not underestimating Courtois, he's a great young keeper, but I don't expect our GK situation to change anytime soon. By loaning him every year his stock keeps rising and and we should cash in on him at some point IMO.
-
God, I hate the international breaks! It feels like this match is so far ahead in time.
-
Brilliant goal, Willi! I'd like to see a lot more of these stuff from him
-
Who cares if he outscores our strikers while playing for Everton? With our history with the strikers there are no guarantees he was going to do the same thing here. I like Lukaku, but I'd rather trust Jose's choice than fall for the media BS that we should regret loaning him.
-
It's too early to make a general assessment of Eto'o, although I agree that so far he's been below par. While I think (would like to think) that he's going to improve I don't see him turn into our super scorer and the man to lead our attack. But who knows, time will tell.
