Completely faultless against Watford and Newcastle. He has come on in leaps and bounds since some awkward performances during pre-season. Just needed a bit of time.
For now I think Gazza is still the man to start alongside JT, but Kurt provides great cover until JT when he eventually calls it quits, when I think Kurt is most certainly the man to take over his spot.

Supporters can sit there and wither away with frustration at his choices, or relish what history he was part of and move on. The latter being superior for ones mentality, whether a fan, player or manager.

I can't understand this ultimatum, you think that this year will be the last in which he will progress? He is only 23, he is still so young and so inexperienced and he may reach his peak only at something like 25, maybe even later. Players such as Ribery, Robben and even Malouda (a beast at his prime) reached their summit at a very progressive age for example.
If you think that Eden will become a Ronaldo v2, I might disappoint you - well, he will most probably won't. I really dought that Hazard will score as much as the Portuguese because he is not a born finisher, both because he lacks certain qualities that great finishers have - shooting and heading especially, but more importantly because he takes different aspects of the game on himself. I agree that he should shoot more but I don't think he needs to become obsessive with it, he can contribute a great deal to the team even if he doesn't score 40 goals a season.
Hazard is a fantastic player already and I personally don't worry about him that much. He will become an even more remarkable player in the future and will be remembered as one of the best even if he won't reach the hights that Ronaldo and Messi reached. If there is a player that we need to worry about it's Oscar, but that's a different discussion...

He doesn't have to go there. He's a Chelsea legend, perhaps our greatest ever but does he need to go there? No.

I am with Term-X this time. This is so fucked up on so many levels.

    Gerrard joining us fucked up.

Xavi joining Real Madrid fucked up.
    Totti joining Lazio fucked up.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West being parents fucked up.

I'm really happy that he is "not ready to sacrifice himself for Chelsea", because when Mourinho is saying that he is basically saying the belgian is not ready yet to sacrifice his attacking instincts to play as a second full back, just like Willian did in the in the first leg against Atlรฉtico.
    Thats a very good thing.

Mourinho is doing the same thing he did at Madrid. Causing division between the fans and the players. Between Madridistas and "Mourinhistas". I hope some of the fans are now starting to see through it.
I've already posted the vines of goals 1 and goals 3 that show Cole and Azpilicueta desperately out of position, both are in the box instead of maintaining their fullback position, leaving Hazard exposed. Go watch the replays again. This is not a Hazard issue, but a Mourinho ego issue.
Watching Hazard this season, I believe he has done more than his fair share of defensive work, certainly more than other top wingers do for their teams. I've seen him track back like an animal at times and cover Azpilicueta on many many occasions, and if we're honest with ourselves, we would all agree on that too. That's what amazes me about Mourinho's comments.
He's basically been our most consistent attacking player and the only one in the front 4 who creates something in the away games, when the new guys like Schurrle, Willian and even Oscar struggle with the extra physicality "allowed" by the refs. We are a team of individuals who play disjointed, ugly football and rely (over rely) on Hazard to bail us out. (Again, eerily similar to his Madrid times with Ronaldo taking the place of Hazard and to his last days at Chelsea, with Drogba taking the place of Hazard as THE guy who bails out the team of individuals). Luckily for us, we don't have that many big ego's in the dressing room any longer so the situation is unlikely to spill over quickly this time.
Back to Hazard. To say he hasn't given 100% for the team is a bold faced lie and Mourinho's said it not because of how he feels, but to deflect criticism from himself and on to anything else, even his own team. He has already done it on many occasions this season. To Torres, Ba, Eto'o, Schurrrle, Hazard and the entire team ("I made eleven mistakes", "my team lack balls") No other manager does shit like this. If Mourinho continues down this path, it's only a matter of time before he loses the dressing room.

He doesn't "need" Chelsea...if he chose to leave, there would definitely be alot of interest in his services
We have a 20 year old who has scored 29 goals in roughly 60 EPL games....yet just because he left the club to improve his skills and play reguarly in a world cup year, we're willing to sell him?

Sad thing is we sold two players he actually has a great understanding with (Mata & KDB) for no reason whatsoever. You're supposed to build the team around your best player and maximize his talents yet we've been doing him no favours.
I also long for the days of the Cole, Lampard and Malouda partnership rather than watching Eden being forced to carry the attacking load by himself.

The whole world now see's why we sold Mata and brought in Matic. What a fucking display from him today, and what a strike.
I'm as straight as they come but If Jose came knocking on my door right now i'd happily pull them down and bend over.

Thanks for clearing that up. Here I was thinking Huddlestone was the next coming of LeBron James with all that athleticism. I guess now I can't enjoy that bit of skill by Hazard because it in fact wasn't done against another footballer but a parapalegic who found himself on the field of play by winning a make a wish competition.
Must you always be so negative? Serious question.

I don't know where the idea of discussing how much he's worth starts (well I do, with someone that thinks the rightful star of this squad is Mata).
Eden Hazard carried this team on his back at the start of last season when he's assisted and scored and the reason why we led the league back then. Then the last three-four months of the season it was him who shone as well.
This season - as usual - it took him a while to be at the top of his game and then he's started influencing our matches like he did last season. most important of all, although he's younger than Mata and by definition more raw and less experienced and mature, still he's proved to be more willing to adapt. Hazard's game depends on his freedom much more than Mata's does (Eden is a counter-attack catalyzer, the less freedom he has, the less lethal he'll be), still the kid worked it around and now he tackles, recovers possession, help the FB, presses and still leads our attack. If anything I would have expected Eden to have more problems embracing the changes than Mata did, but the kid is proving his worth.
He's not for sale and if anything Chelsea better work on his and Oscar's contract extension when they start their 3rd season with us and set some un-payable release clause on them (Eden even more so than Oscar). They've proved no matter who the manager or the system is, they're willing (and capable) of adapting and still offering a lot for the team. Not that I think Mourinho is going anywhere, any time soon...
