I think our problem is rather we often are too narrow and do not enough space. A really good deep lying playmaker like Modric would help us offensively with his immense quality, but I do not see the need to sign a DLP only for having one. A DLP like Banega, CAbaye or Etxebarria would not really be that much of an upgrade. As long as Mazacar all start, I am rather concerned about the pivot protecting the back. As long as we play 3-4 players who literally can't defend, safety comes first. De Rossi could partner any of our midfielders and we would have a pivot that would provide a much better all-round package with and without the ball. If we sign a DLP, we would be slightly more creative but much more vulnerable. We lack pace and steel not skill or creativity.

lol, you got the basic stats completely wrong but the more exotic stats right Lampard has 15 goals in the league alone Mata has 17 assists in the league +Schürrle also wins 0,5 aerial duels per game which is rather bad for a s.o. of his height, but not so grave cos that is not his job

His name is Schürrle. "Schü" is pronounced completely different than "Schu". Phonetically an English "Shyrrlea" probably comes closest to Schürrle in German.

Great article...but Oscar 8/10? Sure? We tend to excuse his incosistency for first season and shit, but it also was Hazard's first season in English football. IMO Ramires and Lampard who have a similar rating to Oscar performed waaay above his level. would rather give him a 7/10. But agree with the rest. good job.

Bayern will be worse next season. Robery will be older and satified, their midfield will still be slow and their main striker far from clinical. Their goalkeeper will still be massively overrated and Badstuber will still be out. we will have a better striker and probably a better midfield, surely we will have a better coach. So i think the chances are pretty even.

Actually one can easily put on 10 pounds of muslce in 3-4 months. Josh has been by far borough's best player, it is a shame s.o. of his ability does not get a chance in the EPL

It's amazing how everyone thinks Oscar will play in the pivot. He is even less capable of that than KDB, both are CAMs that can play on the wing. Their defensive work is just not the standard a player in the double pivot at a top club should have. Secondly Mata is not our best player. Hazard is. We should play a 4-3-3 cos it delivers him from defensive duties.

Ummm..no. Draxler is a CAM, who is very slow for an attacker, but extremely skilfull with a nice shot and decent dribbling skills. He is more of a slower, taller Oscar. But I agree, we do not need him and won't go for him.

Not necessarily means you are a good finisher. Suarez also scores much, but finishing is not exactly his main asset, he wastes an awful amount of chances. Also Kiesling got Bundesliga top scorer this year and he is not exactly clinical. It is also important how you score those goals and at which time. Cavani is so great because he scores the important goals against any opposition. He can score from anywhere, with either foot and his head. He might not be as fast as Bale, as gifted as Suarez or as clinical as Falcao, but he makes things happen. This is so much more important than numbers. It's another question whether he is worth 63m €

Cavani might be twice the player Lewa is, but he also costs twice as much money. He may want to go to Bayern, but if Dortmund are not prepared to let him leave, he maybe has burned the bridges behind him and simply has to move.

Hazard-Mata-Hulk Schürrle-Oscar-KDB Marin------Moses now that is some crazy depth. Amazing what quality even our second offense lineup would have. I doubt we sign both Hulk and Schürrle, would be too expensive, even though I'd rather have Hulk than Schürrle. Also mean that KDB will go on loan again or Marin will feature for the reserve team more often

Don't need him. We got Iva, Luiz, JT, Cahill and Kalas, best defender in Eredivise. Look at the current CL-winner's defence, Dante - Boateng is hardly worldlcass and waaay worse than Iva-Luiz. We might be a bit spoiled, having had the best defense in Europe for years, but with the players we got we are set up nicely. We conceded the second least goals in the league so far. Only real and Real got better defense and still both got slashed by Dortmund. With all this high line and shit, defense is more about tactics and fitting players and most of our defenders are experienced, fast and skilled so they can play any concept Mou wants. I am sure, Jose himself will see we got the necessary resources in that department already.

TBH, I could not stand Ballack, when he was here either, but that was mainly due to the German coverage, always overestimating Ballack's importance. I also think his arrival (+Shevchenkos's of course) was partly at fault for us not winning the league. We shifted to that dreadful diamond, so Lamps had to be played out of position and we had no width. we should rather have signed a proper winger to help out the ever-injured Arjen Robben. Anyway one has to rate him for his professional contribution here, esp saving our asses multiple imtes in 2008. He never bemoaned that he never was more than second fiddle to Lamps and sacrificed his offensive instincts for the sake of the team. I also rate him for single-handedly keeping GErman football alive in its darkest hours. He was by far the best German player of his generation and all these Schweinsteiger and Kroos bitches will never be nearly as classy and complete. Ballack was an old school box-to-box midfielder, he could defend, attack, head, was strong,great finisher and passer, expert freekick and penalty taker, the most important player for any team he played in besides Chelsea, one of the last of his kind.
