Interestingly, despite contradicting rumours, we are still heavily favoured by the bookies as haaland's next destination.

Can't believe Ac Milan have the nerve to ask us for a free transfer here. why would we bother with prolonign is contract if we were fine with having him leave on a free.
-
How hard has Ben white been hitting the solarium just to spite his name? Dude looks like even his tatts are about to get a cancer .

I don't think him having scored 6 penalties does in any case support this laughable claim for him to win Ballon d'Or. It is more testamenent to our forwards' incapability. Also Jorginho also missed 2 which makes it quite an average pen record for the season. Anyone who really thinks there is a chance Jorginho wins this needs to get their head checked.
-
interesting. he is like the polar opposite of hodgson in terms of game philosophy.
-
lol yeah he has been disappointing in the euros as well he played a very decent season and scored quite a couple of good goals but he went missing in some big moments and might share some of the blame if Spain drop out. also has athletic deficiencies
-
I don't think so. He is strong and good in the air but in terms of positioning he is more like alonso, drives forward a lot and can be caught missing at the back. the timing of his tackles could be better and you see that he only started playing at a high level late in his career by his technical limitations. He would be an absolute asset at LWB vs smaller teams that park the bus tho.

The vaccination situation is weird indeed. UK are relatively advanced in the vaccination campaign so i wonder whether footballers are not priority group 3. I got my vaccinated despite being priority group 3/4 a few days after calling my doc shortly before the prioritisation was abandoned. Surely someone must have thought of that before the euros.

what a strike

I guess he wants to make a good impression in the shop window. Surely will leave for a big club this summer.

Champions League Final 2021 - Man City 0-1 Chelsea
Magic Lamps replied to Jase's topic in Champions Archive
For sure, but it is a tradeoff between mental rest and physical sharpness for the game in question. If you trained most of summer you probably will still better perform on the night than someone who had the whole summer off and only recently restarted training. Long term obviously the former will be more prone to burnout or other signs of mental fatigue. Obviously would still prefer our whole squad to have the summer off and restart training when TT sees fit. But we need to win the super cup regardless. I could not stand to lose it 4 times in a row. -
Classic lose lose lose situation city don’t get their dream signing, Kane loses his form over dissatisfaction with having to stay and Tottenham lose transfer value and squad harmony the big winners are all other teams in the PL esp us
-
basically a physical, combative Alonso but his technique is obviously not as polished. I would obviously like him here. would be an amazing offensive back up to Chilly but cant see it happening anyway.
-
I don’t think his pace is an issue at all. He looks slow bc he seldom attempts those sprints but when he wants to he is rapid. Remember city away? Benjamin Mendy is not a slow player but RJ completely blew him out of the water 3 times. I think it comes more down to attitude
-
Damn that was painful. Every attack he got involved in died the moment he got the ball. Expect him to bounce back but it is clear why we pursue hakimi. RJ is too conservative and slow to make a decision at times, especially vs low blocks that dont allow him to cross or run in behind.
-
I hope he will get a good loan. Maybe to Villa where he could play with Mcginn. Should definitely go to a PL club or maybe a top half bundesliga club like Gladbach who play a cultivated football that suits him. He will lose another year if we keep him, can't see TT playing him enough.
-
I don't see how Gilmour's performance is related to the haaland deal going ahead though. If we don't have a goalscorer next season our midfield and attack can be as good as they want we won't compete for the title. While I am by no means a fan of Jorginho (albeit he has been decent at this euros), playing Gilmour over him does not improve us too much to make a significant difference
-
SMS is even more offensively mided tho. Can't see him working in our double pivot.
-
While Locatelli is obviously quality, you can see in his interplay with Jorginoh that Loca thrives more on the offensive box-to-box part whilst Jorginho is more of a holder. the question is if we were to move here if we could properly integrate him next to Kante or Kova which would require Locatelli to sit more. I am convinced he can do it but we would not use him to his maximum potential. Would like to see what Italy does if jorginho was out and Locatelli played more centrally
-
maybe at his prime but now he is an empty shell. Rüdiger is fast as hell, Ramos needs a rollator
-
Ramos has shown he is totally out of his depth at the top level. Havertz, mount ran rings around him. should retire or stay in la grandpa liga. probably will return to sevilla and ride the bench there
-
Ross Turnbull was probably a better goalkeeper lol Also he was usually goalie 3, Hilario was gk 2 and he was just as terrible as Kepa and we often enough lost with him in goal like in the Community shield 2010 or that weird 2-4 vs City when he completely grabbed air several times
-
Yeah that’s what I meant, our record in the easy games till November. we can lay a foundation jf we manage to get for more quickly and win those big early matches and then pull away with the easier ones also from January to end of the season our trip to OT on the penultimate day is our last hard one so the festive period will be crucial. Obviously some games will be rescheduled bc of club World Cup and we will lose or draw one or two after our return due to jet lag.
-
Arsenal pool away, city and Spurs in first 6 games of the season then just shit sides till November. Guess we will know if we can challenge for the title early on
-
If we don’t sign him we will miss him all season lol We have more than enough cover in that position. Still, I like how we are prioritising wing backs if we indeed intend to continue with 3atb most of our width and attacking impetus from the flanks will come from them. We can’t flog Chilwell to death like this season so we need a quality backup. This pedraza guy might well work. I did not know his name before tbh but I remember his absurdly long face getting a lot of screen time va Arsenal and manure hakimi would be an offensive upgrade on RJ albeit the price is steep.
