  1. small club mentality... are you talking about the real madrid we thrashed a few weeks ago? None of their players is good enough for us, so the opposite is the case.
  2. It is supposed to be a buyers market yet we decide to splash out 50m+ for a position we are not even in desperate need despite better alternatives being available for half the money. The board is getting dumber each year.
  3. A cbs priority is to defend . Zouma is A good enough defender as a back up. The cbs playing out from the back is overrated and a temporary trendy craze that happens every few decades. When you have tall and/or fast attackers which we have, hoofing it forward can actually cause more of an attacking threat than giving everyone a heart attack by passing it through the own box.
  4. When you have once Heard Bastian schweinsteiger babbling his captain obvious commonplaces even the fat curly hair guy from ctv sounds like Shakespeare
  5. true, it looks like they got a chessboard on their butts.
  6. the defender marking ugbo just stood there and let ike pass in front of him literally on the goal line. the corner kick from barkley was pinpoint tho, no idea if he meant it
  7. he is just so fast and he presses like a madman
  8. baba rahman does more in 10 mins than alonso in 55
  9. RLC looks to have recovered some of his pace.
  10. loan loan loanloanloan Conor Gallagher
  11. no matter the opposition, alonso remains an absolute pest
  12. dujon Sterling who is probably the one with the best chance of actually convincing TT to stay on the squad. He has shown that he is eager to impress, insanely fast, proactive thinking but a little rash. Will be interesting what TT will make of him.
  13. I don't think Drinkwater's problem is a lack of technique. He is vastly experienced too. He just is injury prone and mentally instable. You just can't rely on him.
  14. In general yes, but today he has not put a foot wrong really.
  15. He has been surprisingly good. lewis baker also not too shabby. tammy showed why TT does not trust him albeit he still has good instincts. I also like CHO's performance, nothing new here tho.
  16. dujon sterling is 1,86m there are outdated stats but i saw him in his cfc tv feature he was clearly taller than paulo ferreira
  17. when does the game start? Chelsea tv still repeats goals form 2019
  18. weird formation... maybe a 1970style 2-5-3 lol
  19. I have been lifting weights for 10 years so i am most probalby stronger than Kounde. but that was not the point. I said in kreisklasse, which is the lowest division in German football i would surely best any defender this small given he has a similar skill level. This is why you could expect a big striker with a similar, top level skill set as Kounde to have a huge advantage over him.
  20. Obviouly Kounde is a skilled defender but if i were still playing striker(i am 1,92 and well over 90kg) and got a 1,78, 70kg CB lined up against me in Kreisklasse i would eat him alive. That guy would either leave the pitch with 5 goals conceded or a broken ribcage lol. Surely, the refs down there are half blind half lenient but so are the refs in PL.
  21. kounde for zouma leaves us with just one CB over 6'2, all slight in build, all aerially average at best. Don't like it at all. Zouma scored 6 goals from set pieces last season. Can easiyl now see us go a full season without a headed set piece goal which come in clutch in tight games. Praying this does not happen but it so stupid our board will do everything to complete it. smdh
  22. not at city only obviously. look at Barcelona and Bayern too where he signed guys like Benatia, Kirchhoff and chrgynskyy lol
  23. Pep has singed like a dozen cbs all but 2 flopped. If Pep likes a CB it should make you wary not greedy. Coughing up 60m for a CB and then not playing him is what Pep likes for breakfast.
  24. In a back 3 maybe. but even then we have to compensate and have him play more advanced of the other cbs making us lopsided. But you don't sign a cb only for one formation. Surely at some point, we will switch to back 4 under tt oder another manager and you also don't play Azpi as cb in a back 4. Honestly I never liked Azpi as cb even in a back 3. I further don't think that Kounde is remotely as tough as Azpi. Also, again, there are jsut so many quality, tall cbs available who cost half of what Kounde does. Maybe it is bc he scores a flashy goal every blue moon but he is so so overrated. Why do we pick the one tiny, overhyped cb? itdoes not make sense. Just sign Lacroix for 25-30m and be done with it. So many quality CBs like Konate, Varane already moved and we stood by so i thought maybe we just dont sign one this summer but no we go in for the one i explicitly never wanted. Just feels shit.
