I guess we are all talking about Potential... It's a subjective thing. We don't however, have a consistent policy of 'blooding youth' in the team. This IMHO has been caused by the manager merry-go-round over the past years. We (pains me to say it) need to adopt Arsenals way of blooding youngsters. Scott Sinclair would be a good example of a player we didn't really rate - who now has an opportunity at making it big. Other teams (and teams in other countries) can produce a conveyor belt of talented youngsters, we need to do the same. If they don't end up playing for us, at least we can sell them, recover the costs of training and help balance te books. But my problem is, we never give them the platform to succeed Just my opinion tho...

Samsung Merely 'Extend' Shirt Sponsorship Deal

Yup, this year prices will increase, people will look for alternate suppliers In 3 years who knows where the price of grain will be - if other countries pick up the slack, the US will be forced to drop its prices, bringing the market down Think it's called elasticity of demand - was 20yrs ago when I did economics though -
We aren't worrying about finishing second, because we know that's where you will be.... So thanks for registering and playing the game - but please, send me the invoice for a box of tissues - you'll need them to cry into when we play you...

Samsung Merely 'Extend' Shirt Sponsorship Deal

Agreed - I had a choice of 2 American Style Fridge Freezers - I chose the Samsung one as it's linked to CFC - I also got the missus a Galaxy 3, again because it's Samsung... (So I've spent EUR: 2000 in the last few months on Samsung products, because of their association with CFC) So people who view Samsung products, could subsconsciouly be aware of Chelsea Football Club - because that close association exists over a number of years. I also now find myself as a die-hard McLaren fan, looking out for the Sauber's on F1 day - I love the CFC logo on the car! -

Yup 99% agree... But nobody has fucked up, or made a mistake - it's predicting future events, to only be a few million off is pretty good judgement IMHO. Like I said - it only appears that Samsung have a good deal with relative events in 2012 - if the market would have tanked, then Samsung would have looked like idiots for paying more than everybody else. Nobody, anywhere in the world is going to enter into such a contract - by definition a contract has to give equal rights to both parties - we (CFC) + Samsung decided a 'renewal' option would make sense in X years - based on the unpredictability of the financial markets, this, again IMHO, seems like a good deal for both parties. We have a consistent sponsor, Samsung are sponsors of the European elite etc. We also don't know what other deals / commitments Samsung have to CFC - they could be providing 1000's of Free TV's / Phones / Tablets / Laptops etc. - there's probably a shed load of money in that as well... -
Agree - I made that point in some other thread (Samsung sponsorship I think)... We REALLY need to increase our match-day revenue by having a bigger ground. That would really help us with hitting our targets.

EVERYTHING looks EASY with hindsight... When the contract was first announced - it was a lucrative contract, in the past few years things have changed massively in Football and revenue despite a GLOBAL recession has increased. If it had gone the other way, we would have been lauding this business decision as a stroke of genuis... as it is - it's not bad/good - it's middle of the road, guaranteed revenue.... If they had of dumped us after CL final - we might not have got a sponsor this year - so we'd be 15 million down... Life isn't that easy - trust me... EDIT: To clarify, the decision to renew at then current market prices was a punt that could have worked in our favour or against us - as it stands, we're a few million of current market value, but certainly not that bad... You can't sack someone for not being able to accurately predict the future. In terms of risk management it made sense to keep it at 15million a year, in case the money in football (as every so called expert predicted) tanked - and at a renogitation we could have ended up with 5 million (market value if the football market had tanked)... Tell you what - predict the price of 'wheat' grain in 3 years per tonne here and now - and we'll see how easy it is - would be a cool competition -

Yeah but that was part of the financing deal for the new stadium... I'd rather have the ground capacity Arsenal have.... 15 mill is not great - but it's not bad... We really need to increase the ground capacity though - the bi-monthly revenue (more with Cups + CL ) is the key to running a business - Utd+Arse get much more revenue than we do per game - if we could increase this, then our FFP troubles will be significantly reduced. Maybe we could do a deal with Samsung to get a Stadium as well.... -
LOL No chance

It'll turn up on www.xnxx.com at some point in the celeb section... Can't be arsed myself - would rather do the real thing... The only spectator sport I mostly enjoy is football and f1, everything else, participating is better

Hi, This is a great read - really enjoyed it - and IMHO shows 'why' we have been busy loaning out players and letting players go... I think the Board are aiming to try and get to 'break even' point and understanding how they can amortize the transfers reliably over period 'x' to ensure we meet the FFP (should they ever really be enforced)... http://swissramble.blogspot.co.at/2012/09/uefas-ffp-regulations-play-to-win.html It's really interesting to see that City are pretty screwed. United + Arsenal are better off around 40 mill per season than us - due to their large ground capacity - this is something that NEEDS to be addressed - so hopefully the Pitch Owners will wake up and smell the coffee! This is just a 3rd party article, with a couple of opinions - no need for flame wars, if you don't like it - don't read it - not forcing ya

Ok cool, never noticed it TBH... Maybe you guys just have different views, which is good for the rest of us, makes us think about things in more depth.

I agree with you on Betrand, let's protect him a bit and give him every chance to succeed! I DO NOT agree with you claiming Zolayes was trying to start an argument, he was simply expressing HIS opinion as every member has the right too... Chill out and stop taking things personally. You make some great posts thank add real value, but don't shoot yourself in the foot by making it personal...

Well done Diddy Jesus never realised how big his forehead is! No wonder he had a bullet header -
Worked in Moscow - loved the CSKA games 1) racism - it's not deliberate, just cultural and lack of understanding, not all countries develop at the same rate. Russia is similar in that respect to England 30yrs ago... The people are genuinely nice though, extremely well educated and smart, despite media propaganda... 2) due to capitalism, quite a few people have made it big. Russia has an abundance of natural resources, so very rich individuals. There are more Billionaires per square mile in Moscow than any other city in the world!!! Manhattan has the most millionaires per square mile... To put it into context! I would expect Russian league to grow and prosper over next 10 yrs and like any developing country, racism and stereotypes to start dying out ...

Yeah what the fuck is it with the negativity on here about our prospects???? Here's how it will play out.... He'll get slagged off, leave, join a smaller club, become a star and then all the haters will be up in arms - why don't we develop our youth, another missed opportunity etc. Unlike Kakuta this guy has real promise... I don't know what's happened to Kakuta, but he looks like an imposter... He hasnt sneaked off on holiday and left his bro with us has he?

Yeah all complete Bollocks... Fact: The biggest chequebook = big fan as a child... Always wanted to play for them yada yada...

Life is only as complicated as you make it! HE made his life complicated! Take Messi, he doesn't ponce around with fashion, image etc... CR wanted to be the new Beckham - now he's got it and surpassed it - careful what ou wish for.... No sympathy for him, not even a shred. Can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen, fucking pussy...
-
LOL - he's not that bad - just think he's trying too hard, or his head isn't right - he's been a bit sloppy of late - but underneath that, there's definitely some talent...
-
Gullit did nothing wrong IMHO - I certainly can't remember it being bad... Viallia - again, sometimes tactically naive - but we played some great football under him.... We just need conistency now, stop bringing in different managers as they bring it lots of new players and then they are stuck on the wage bill - we need to commit to RDM for a good 3-4 yrs, or find somebody who we will commit too... I dont think we'll ever see the likes of SAF, Arse-W & Moyes again - clubs just dont have the patience now, a string of bad results and you're out.... I just hope Spuds get relegated this year - already lots of people complaining about AVB - we did try and warn them
-
Agree - big enoug to sign a contract that pays then what I earn in a year, in a week... Big enough to play anywhere against anybody... We need to man up - its a mans game....
-
Drenthe looked great for Everton, wonder why nobody has snapped him up? Also Karagounis is a solid pro... Bit slow , but solid Edit: we were linked with Drenthe in 2007 but he chose Madrid instead.... Worth a pay for play contract like Owen surely?
-
God NO He needs a few games in the reserves to get his form back, he is playing awful at the minute, so bad I just cannot bear to watch him... He has been bad since pre-season! Think he needs some time out to recapture his form and be the player we all know and love... As they say, form is temporary, class is permanent... Why play him when he's not performing, that's the biggest mistake we make at CFC...
-
No FFP for them !!! We should poach their scouting network!!!
