Buried many posts back - I made the same point - the longer this goes on the better I think the outcome will be. The FA backed themselves into a corner, by trying to be 'popular' in the media - they should never have made ANY public statements or TAKEN ANY action until there was a hearing. They have made a mockery of the whole process, by presuming guilt over innocence and some could argue have already prejudiced the case. I think they would gain more credibility by returning a Not Guilty verdict and then shutting the fuck up and being the 'professional' body that they are supposed to be...

Oscar looked like the only player capable of scoring (again)... We have some great players at our disposal, so we can mix the line-up around and keep teams guessing. We can also rest players, something we couldn't do last season. So I for one am pleased with Oscar, as quite a few posts when we signed him said he might be a little 'light' for the EPL - another myth disproven I would also love to see Marin left and Moses right - could really do some damage - like the old Robben+Duff partnership

I've run out of likes today But TheCount is right - we don't play to the strengths of Torres. Now - should we change, or look for a new player? Sadly, this is not our decision. WE (CFC) always have problems with CF position, we always buy 'big' and then they flop. I think Torres is partly to blame though - he doesn't have the FIRE/PASSION to demand the ball, he just sulks - this drives me mad. Instead of talking in the paper - show it on the pitch! DEMAND the ball - get involved!!!! If he did that more - I would definitely cut him some more slack

Yup - but the 'understanding' will come with a settled team + formation - this was the first time (to my knowledge) the team has shaped up like this and I found it really encouraging. Agree with Toronto Chelsea that we were a little narrow, but Moses helped and if Marin had of been available, this would also have been a good option. I'm just loving Oscar though - he is an amazing player - 25 million - what a bargain!

Hey - I never said this was perfect! What I said is - "This is BETTER than Lampard + Mikel" I agree, Ramy is NOT PERFECT for this role - but it's an improvement over what we had - so I'm pleased - as long as he wasn't on RW... Yeah but how would you have changed it? Marin is not fit, Studge is not fit - Moses was the only option and he did well when he came on? We are light in Midfield options. But Stoke is 1 GK - 9 Defenders and Crouch... How else where we supposed to beat them? Not critiising you - just trying to understand - how would you have approached it differently? Stoke would have stayed narrow, regardless of our width, and then we just have the ball out wide and it still has to come infield as we have no threat in the air up front?

Yup, agreed - but Studge should be fit soon and Lukaku seems to be a different guy to the pre-season horror show - so things are looking good. I still think we need another striker in Jan and if that means shipping Torres to Atletico (even if we pay some of his wages, or give them a lump sum to cover them over 2 years) and take Falcao... Think you were watching a different game dude? We played great, soaked up the small pressure they offered and totally bossed the midfield (especially 2nd half) These were good tactics against a good Stoke team I thought the team had the best balance of ALL season so far? Sure you weren't watching a Re-Run of the QPR game :D Ok, they hit the bar, they had some amazing last ditch tackles to prevent us scoring several times - so much so that Shawcross got MOTM - doesn;t that tell you something

You know - the BIG Physical team that ARSENAL and CITY couldn't beat! So stop with the shit - and trying to make KOJO look bad!

Kudos to RDM today. He chose a much better formation and with some more game time we could be REALLY dangerous. Ramy looked great alongside Mikkel and Mikkel also looked good. My only critiscism (slight) is our 'Tempo' - but if we can get a settled team and players playing well - then the 'Tempo' will come. Stoke is the first big challenge to those who say 'small players won't cope' - we did and WON... So well done to RDM in this game - long may it continue

Yeah well do what I now do... Expect fuck all from him - except the odd 'good' pass - and life is easier... I just mentally change Torres to Kalou in my head and then I can enjoy the whole game without being annoyed or angry... :D

But even with Width - we have no Aerial threat in the box. If you mean to create more space in the centre - then sure - I agree I thought the tactics were spot-on, we were unlcuky a few times and on a different day this could have been 3-0 to us... Stoke never really troubled us and the TEAM is looking much more balanced with this line-up...

I'm happier with this result, than the QPR one. 1) Stoke have taken points of Arsenal + City They are a hard team to break down, we managed it and City (with better strikers didn't!) - so yes we lack firepower, but even with City's firepower they couldn't produce a WIN! It's all about the TEAM - we looked good today, let's use Wolves to sharpen our shooting boots and roll on Le'Arse...

P.S. Can we please not turn this into a Torres thread. 1) He didnt score 2) He DID contribute as best he could - if this isn't good enough for you, then fair enough, but HE DID contribute AS all of the team did... MIKKEL played REALLY WELL alongside RAMY - perfect!

Genuine TEAM effort - and Stoke have taken points of City + Arsenal, so a WIN was awesome! :D Think Everton might be a surprise package this season, another good win - maybe the new Newcastle

Yup - Oscar has to start Moses has to start Torres - hmm - but some good link-up play - eventually... Him or Studge is all we have - so let's not bash him too much...
