  1. Yup and we wonder why our country is bankrupt! I've been calling for years that 'players' should be on PAYE in the UK, just think how much extra money the Govt could piss away with all the footballers contributing
  2. Ahh figure of speech, not 100% literal Hmm - I dunno, does Messi hit the gym? Ronaldo hits the gym because he is a 'vain' player and loves to be a playboy to all those women that throw themselves at footballers.... Rooney and Messi are similar, try and avoid the limelight and love playing football... Except for Rooneys well documented indiscretions with Granny hookers early on in his career So I don't agree with that Analysis - as having a 6 pack doesn't automatically make you a better player if we were discussing Boxers I would agree Ronaldo relies on explosive pace, to maintain that (like a sprinter) he has to build a lot of muscle (fast twitch) - whereas Rooney and Messi are intelligent tricky players and don't need that muscle mass... The article is poorly written in my opinion and very tenuous... I do think Rooney can offer so much to Chelsea and I regularly sign him on FM - so that's almost FACT right. :)
  3. I think he will be sold... He showed some moments of promise - but ultimately was no better than Kalou - if anything Kalou was slightly better... Maybe I'm being too harsh and maybe he just needs more time to adapt, but he can't cross, struggled to beat defenders and left me annoyed Every time I watched him after he returned from AFCON. Prior to AFCON he was great.. I don't know what happened to him - but I think he might be out the door - his only saving grace is 'homegrown' I think
  4. Hutcho - spot on... Players register themselves as a 'corporation' - they're not on PAYE So yes - Corporation Cavani will receive the money - he will deduct expenses - cars, houses, assistants, security guards etc - then pay himself a basic wage and 'dividends' - easy money... Especially if his company is founded in Monaco... In the UK International players can also do this, without falling foul of IR35 legislation - as they have multiple incomes from their club and International appearances... Not to mention sponsorship deals etc... If you've got the money, there's always a way to hide it
  5. Hey Rob - I normally agree with everything you say and I do respect your opinion - but saying Rooney doesn't give it 100% on a pitch just simply isn't true... The guy plays his heart out every game and I've never seen him go missing? If he fucks up he demands the ball back immediately and tries again - the way you describe Rooney is the way that Nasri plays
  6. I remember predicting Counter Strike would be huge and it was in early 2000's I also predicted computer games would be bigger than Hollywood 20 years ago in my career choices interview, I was laughed at by Teachers. Today I'm working in an industry that's as big and if not bigger than Hollywood! Shows how much those teachers know Football predictions - I'm pretty shit TBH... I thought Kalou would be awesome
  7. Agree Choulo... After his horrific injury he needs time to play and out of the spotlight, he's bound to be a little nervous of it happening again... I personally think this is a very smart move, let him get his confidence and match sharpness back away from SB under the spotlight and then re-integrate next season... Couldn't have planned it better myself
  8. He interviews like Paul Scholes... If he plays ANYTHING like Paul Scholes this season I will be delighted I can't believe he's getting stick for not pissing around ? He's a professional and we need that calmness... I really like this guy and can't wait for him to do big things this season!
  9. I think we can all do the maths - oops sorry, math! PSG and Monaco are flouting the very rules 'cuntface' created to give French clubs a chance, FFP is dead in the water as 'cuntface' now has homegrown problems to deal with - I bet we won't see any 'endorsements' anytime soon. Rooney is commercially attractive, you could potentially offset 50% of that annual sum through sponsorship, shirt sales, merchandising etc, the transfer fee is amortised - so not all doom and gloom as you are painting We've got rid of a few players - 3-4 average players salaries = Rooney, I know what I'd rather have in the starting 11... If this happens (unlikely) as 'old cuntface' would never have sold him, and Moyes won't want to start on the back foot!! - it will be great for CFC... On reflection I may have over used 'cuntface' - but, can you ever really over-use that word?
  10. Please let that be true! I prefer Rooney to Cavani and he's English (helps with the regs)... Rooney can either play up front or cover for Mata - he's such a versatile player and has a great work ethic on the pitch... We need someone like him in the middle of the park, perfect transition guy from Defence to Attack. Anything under 30 million is a bargain!!! Him and DeRossi = most awesome
  11. Can't see it myself - Spuds all over it... Have to move to 4-4-2 Or we will prob get Benteke and loan Villa Lukaku (#mistake IMHO)
  12. Pity that 'arrow to the knee' rules you out.
  13. CLOSE THREAD - ANOTHER MISSED OPPORTUNITY
  14. Spot on Tomo!!!! If we had kept Lukaku and KdB plus a few others last season we might have won the league Onwards and upwards
  15. Yeah that's strange he's a good keeper - well he wasnt a disaster show Maybe he now carries a long term injury? Surprised one of the Scottish clubs or Championship clubs didnt snap him up?
  16. Brats is probably a bit harsh 1) we CAN afford him 2) Should we? - and I guess that was the stumbling block, no guarantees - look at Michu! 2million quid... The whole club has worked incredibly hard to meet FFP and blowing 60+ million on a striker would go against everything. Yes, I have previously said get him or Falcao - but now I want us to be the new Porto, developing playes everybody wants. I'm sick of buying high all the time! We have Lukaku and he will be a beast - end of story
  17. Good I'm glad PSG have him... Another nail in the coffin for FFP - poor old Platini must be gutted - he looks a right idiot now, with PSG and Monaco splashing the cash... We didn't need him and it would have created a media circus and unrealistic pressure. We don't need to spend 65million, those days are over...
  18. Yeah Paris might be a great city - but it's full of FRENCH! Therefore - London is the only option
  19. Nah it would be good! Start Lukaku if it doesn't work Suarez to come in I hate the bloke, but if he pulls on a blue shirt and scores - then I will tolerate him Personally I think he's better than Cavani
  20. Quick where's Alex and that fucking massive BAN HAMMER Look - once the release clause is met the club have no say - if P$G trigger that - Napoli can say what the want - but the player is moving... Unless the wording of the release clause (clever) is that Napoli must receive €63million NET!!! If that's the case then clever them and more money please P$G So the guy was half wrong too - it just depends on the wording of the contract
  21. Yup this guy would be all kinds of amazing for us, right age to give some quality whilst allowing the integration of younger squad players!!! Woohoo bringing back the Italians to Chelsea
  22. Lol it wasn't during the Confed Cup - it was whilst he was in his garden!!! See the video below!!! http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=NmNObROcBOo&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DNmNObROcBOo
  23. Not sure where you learnt maths, but... The difference between 77million and 89million is 12million!!! Not 2million Rooney is still the better option - as he allows other younger players the chance to shine and CAN play in the number 10 role occupied by Mata in a much more lethal way... 25+ mill = BARGAIN
  24. And if you take into account compound inflation - it's all relative
  25. I vote for Tomo - great poster Shouts to Pizy, Robinua (help on name - US guy)
