@special Juan @cicero - WTF? There's nothing personal in the posts? I tend to lean towards Cicero's logic that the board have finished the mad spending spree and are now more than ever committed to working within a 'profitable' structure for CFC. They are trying to blend youthful acquisitions with some experienced players - as well as investing heavily on youth talent for the future. I would love us to be like Porto - nurture player after player and any we don't like sell for a ridiculous profit - honestly Porto are amazing at this... I do also feel our frontline is the main weakness for us - a marquee signing would help, be it Rooney or Suarez. I'm actually warming to the idea of Suarez - him with Mata, Hazard, Oscar, KdB, Schurrle, Moses to play with would be awesome. Yes he's a cunt - but - if he signs he'll be 'our' cunt and I'm comfortable with that.

I can't believe the over-reaction.... Again - this is REAL LIFE - not FIFA or FM... It takes time to blood a young team - get all of the players working in the same direction and there's been so many changes during pre-season - it's been impossible to enforce any consistency. WHY do we have inconsistency? WELL glad you asked - because THIS YEAR we have a squad full of strength and depth - (remember when you were complaining about that last season?) and in order to get 'all' players match fit - they need game time. I'm not happy we lost, far from it - but one thing I do know is - you learn much more in defeat than in winning - and now the lads all have a focus on what to achieve in the next game. This Player X is amazing and then 20 minutes later he's shit - just has to stop. I myself have been guilty of it - but it just doesn't work. If a player is giving 100% to the cause - then I'm happy, regardless of how he is performing - sometimes you just have 'off-days'... So let's look at with a sense of balance - are we in a better place than the end of last season? YES - IMHO we are - we have a great SQUAD of players - for all occasions and the longer they spend together, the better the 'dynamic' between them will be. So - what did the game achieve? - Fitness.... Check - Areas to improve on.... Check That's good enough for me!

Well we have history with Pep and he won't be relishing the idea of facing Chelsea... I think the critiscising of Pep is a bit much - playing Lahm out of position for a friendly actually makes sense - if you look at this way Pep: I need you to do xyz Lahm: I don't understand Pep then plays him in midfield to show Lahm what the midfielder has to deal with and it will help Lahm understand when playing in his normal position what's needed.
