I think what seperates Thibaut from Petr is that he is almost 10 years younger. Positioning, decision making, commanding box presence all becomes perfect with age if a goalie has the requiered talents which he needs to develop. And Thibaut has all that. That´s why I can´t really see him being a proper threat to Petrs Nr 1 Squad, who should see out his carreer with to be honest. It is difficult with Thibaut in hand sort of...I wouldn´t mind him staying at Atleti for at least two seasons. It is frightening which sort of potential we have in our loanees alone...

Mata is an absolute champion and such a humble person as well, it seems. I love the way our team is developing at the moment with Mata, Hazard et al. I think this season was probably one of the most important ones in terms of development and commitment shown therefor by young players like Oscar who really pushed his bounderies yesterday. Difficult game for him but he and Rami sitll managed to pin Benfica back and helped the team scoring. I think with a team build around Mata (all the big teams have a few who stand out) and the other amigos we are on a good way. It is exciting to witness this period as a supporter, I have to say. I am grateful after missing out on most of Zolas carreer (too young, too far away) to now see magicians like Mata and Hazard who people already compare to Zola. Anyway, got distracted there...brilliant touch from him on for Torres, who played really well again last night and scored a brilliant goal. He can still be fucking strong...every now and then.

Carrick was easily Uniteds best player this season. But that only tells you how awefully average this whole United squad is. Mata should be player of the season for me. Biased oppion of course, but surely not Suarez. The only competition coming from Bale, obviously. I think for a player in his second season in the league, Mata deserves it most.

That is the end of a very short lived spell of competativeness in the Bundesliga. Bayern destroying the league again, a Behemoth of a football club, totally Machiavellian behaviour to to this before one of BVBs biggest games ever. The Bundesliga was just about to get a bit more balanced and now it is probably back to "normal" with Pep and Götze signed already. The Premier League might have been boring this season but at least the level of competativness in the mid table region is much higher so that big teams might always lose points.Bayern now blowing everyone out of the water. Maybe Klopp can find a few good players with that kind of dosh he got for Götze. I doubt it though that they will reinvest all of it into players.

I´d like to see him here. I always rated him, even before the named WC. Given that Mourinho insisted that Madrid had to buy him if he himself should come, is quite telling.IF this whole Mou return talk is true and that he wants to bring a player with him and this player should be Samy, why the fuck not ? To be fair, it is not like that we don´t have any strength in depth, the replacements we have are not just as good. I mean Yossi for example, he is still a very good and experienced player I´d rather have than, let´s say, any Arsenal backbancher. Marin is a different story, a bit tragic.I think he can be good enough if he had more playtime which he won´t get because he is not good enough right now because he doesnt get enough...you see. Paulo is still a good backup. We really shouldn´t have let go of Essien AND Raul. Even if they are not worldclass they would make up for the numbers. Maybe Nathan Ake can get some gametime in Kazan ?

Although we have a good chance of getting into the semis here, I still don´t give a wet toss of a mental bollock about this competition. I can´t imagine any sort of celebrations if we should win this trophy. Where is the final anyway ? Somewhere like Arch´anglsk I´d imagine. If we win and don´t face them in the semifinal I´d predict a Chelsea - Benfica Final.
